Anyone here know about their program?
How much for self pay?

My mom and grandma want my sister to have this done and we are looking at some different Dr.s. I, of course want her to use my Dr., but my mom is wondering the price for Citizens. I know they have an excellent facility there.

Thats where I went-
My Dr is Dr. Chang right in the next building same parking lot as this place.
I'm unsure about self pay cost- I had UCH PPO and paid 1,500.00 out of pocket in monthly payments of 50.00 to 100.00 what I could afford.

Heather, if your sister is willing to travel to Louisiana, my surgeon (Dr. Lavin) charges $12,900 for self-pay patients. It covers his services, a 23-hour hospital stay, the anesthesiologist and 1 year of follow-up care/fills.

His website is www.whyweight.com if you wish to check him out. BTW, he operates on out-of-state patients quite often.

Good luck!

Spivak is charging $15,000. now.
Thanks Tricia. I will pass the info along to my mother.

My sister is probably 6'-0" tall and weighs well over 400 pounds. My whole family is very worried about her. She has NO money and NO insurance. I wish I could pay for her to have it done.

Yes, $15K is a lot, but if I had to do it over and pay myself, I would in a heartbeat.

Thanks for your help ladies... I will definitely keep you all updated. My grandma could write a check out for that amount, but she tries to treat us all equally, and that means she would have to give over 30 of her grandkids $15K and I doubt she will do that :) Her and my mom are trying to work out a way to pay for it. We haven't told my sister yet. But, she does want to have it done.

Thanks Tricia. I will pass the info along to my mother. You're welcome, sweetie.

I agree with Cynthia though. The other grandchildren should understand that this is for health reasons. It would be a lot different if she were to write out that amount to buy her a new car.

I hope everything turns out for the best.

Heather Gurl I had my Lap band done by Dr. McDaniel at Citzens in Victoria and I can not say enough good things about the Dr. or the hospital. However I do not know the cost as Medicare and TriCare for life paid for mine. However if I had to pay I would go to Dr. McDaniel in a heart beat. His staff is awesome and more caring than any other Dr. I have ever been to. Also the hospital is excellent. You get a private room and should some go with you they can spend the night in the room with you as they have a couch and all already made up for them as well. Shirley 221
