Tomorrow is finally the day that I can get the ball rolling on being banded. I attend the seminar tomorrow and go from there. Do any of you have any suggestions or ideas to get the most out of the seminar? I am planning on taking a notebook to jot down info in. Thanks

The more info you can accumulate the better! Dont feel scared to speak up and ask questions. Talk to the people that are there and let them tell you their stories. The Dr. office usually has people who've been through the surgery. Pick their brain, ask them about the things that DIDN'T go perfectly. (after the seminar of course) Success stories are great, but also get the bad. A realistic view of banding. Get details on the "stats" of the doctor you are choosing and research it well. Hope that helps :)

I have been to one of those seminars (meaning specific to Dr. R Cahn & Anderson) and they are quite informative.

I'd recommend taking that note pad, but above all, I'd recommend you come to the support group on Tuesday if you can. You'll meet the 'real' bandsters and get to share what it's really like.

We'll be there unless something unexpected occurs. The seminars are great, meeting the people is in my mind, better.

The seminar is great! I did the same thing. I took a lot of notes and asked some questions as they came up. I also took the opportunity to meet both Dr. Anderson and Dr. Cahn. Have you chosen a doctor yet?

Dawg, thanks, I plan on being there on Tues as well.

Linda, I will need to see Dr. Cahn as he is the one contracted with my insurance. I am very excited.

Hey Beauty, there is a list of questions to ask before surgery posted in the New Members Helpful Info Forum. It wouldnt hurt to print that out and pick out the questions you want answers to and then ask them at the seminar. Those questions are ones that aren't often thought of by a lot of people about to be banded and the answers will be very helpful to you and to the rest of the people at the seminar.

Ok, thanks P'Nut! I am back from the seminar so I missed it but will print them out before I see Dr. Cahn.
