I have a long history of having gout (25 years already). Prior to surgery, my dr pretty much promised me a gout attack post op. Well, it took five days, but he was right.
If you have gout, you are familiar with the treatment for it, but the surgeon is strongly against any of the indocin family of meds for treatment. Anyone have any other ideas. Ibuprofen is also tough on a slimly filled stomach. The most recent episode lasted 19 days :eek: and that was tough. In the long run, hopefully the weight loss helps control both the frequency and the severity of the attacks.
