I live in Northern Arizona and was hoping there would be some locals. Maybe not so soon since this board is new, but if anyone is in AZ message me for local support! :magneta:

Tomorrow is the big day for you, isn't it? Best of luck. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to call me.
From this last week I can tell you that the day after surgery was the worst. Take the script that the doctor will give you when you need it (every four hours was my directions). I haven't really been hungry, just slept as much as I wanted to. I am back to work tomorrow, but will be thinking of you.

Hi Arizonans!!
I am from Phoenix. Would be nice if we could get a support group together. I wouldn't mind driving to Flagstaff. I love it there and hope to move there in the next 5 years or so.
Take care,
Michelle

Michelle, where in Phoenix are you? I am in the far north central area (101 and 7th Ave). Who was your surgeon?
Has anyone seen Christy around?

Hi Julie!
I am close to I-17 and Peoria, so not too far from you.
I was banded by the great Dr. Ortiz in TJ, Mexico. Weren't you banded by Dr. Simpson? He is pretty great also! I know that Dr. Simpson's patients have a support group but I didn't know if they would accept non-Simpson patients.
Have a great weekend.

Hi momo and welcome! I can ask Dr. Simpson if it is ok for non-patients to go to the meetings and I will let you know. We have a great group of people both men and women! www.drsimpson.com if you'd like to post on his message board, we welcome you.
Julie!!! *hugs* I've been fantastic ... OMG I have lost 12 lbs!!!! I've been fighting the urge to weigh every day LOL. I am feeling fantastic today, better than yesterday and better each day. Walking is key for sure. You are on mushies now aren't you?? How is that going? It has been really hard for me to eat at all, I hope that changes a bit. Not much though lol. Good to see you! Are you going to the December x-mas party that Dr. Simpson is having? Me and my DH are going, hope to see you and your DH there!
Thanks lots2luv for your well wishes. Things are going great. I am looking forward to returning to work 2nd week in November so that my fridge will quit talking to my head! hahaha! What a weird thing, this band. My poor head is soooo confused.
AZ support group of B2G people? I'm totally up for it! I'm in the valley a few times a month because my son lives there and so does my brother. Let me know, maybe we can make it a "traveling" support group so that each person can "show off" their part of the state, could be fun!!!

Hi Christy! 12 lbs. YIPEEEE!! You are doing great! I know what you mean about head hunger. I still fight it but I have noticed with my first fill last week (1.6 cc in my 4cc band) I cannot give into the head hunger demons because my band won't let me. Oh, thanks for offering to check with Dr. Simpson's group.
Diane - you have done so well with your weightloss and your pics are fabulous! Do you have any words of wisdom for us newbies?
Lots2luv and Julie - how are you gals doing?
Hope you are all having a great weekend!

Hi gals! Happy weekend to everyone! I was just thinking that tomorrow at work I get to explain to almost everyone calling from out of state that no, in Arizona we do not change our clocks. Ugh. It is hard to understand unless you have lived here.
Christy - DH and I are planning on going. I am so glad you and your DH are too, although I may not be able to look him in the eyes after that class and your questions. I am on mushies and doing great. I also had my post-op. Dr. Simpson just looked so pleased, it was sweet. Diego kept trying to come into my room and scratching on the door. I have lost 20 pounds so far and feel great.
Michelle - I was banded by Dr. Simpson! He is awesome. I will bet that they would say you are welcome at the support group. You do live close to me! When Christy and I are able to eat more solid foods, we will all have to get together.
Lots2luv - Where are you located at? Are you banded, and if so, when? I am going to go see if I can get to know you better from other posts.
Diane - How are you doing?

I am here. How are you doing? I am 14lbs. down since 3 days pre-op. I am going for my second fill on the 20th. I have lost some of my restriction since my first fill three weeks ago. I have not been exercising like I should so, I am going to add some hiking 1-2 times per week.
Hope you have a great weekend!

Hi everyone!
Well this weekend was rough. I lost family support when we traveled out of town around the fast food. I guess I did ok, but eating fast food surely made me feel HELLA guilty like I cheated or something. I ate an enchirito at Taco Bell (thats it) and then at night the kids wanted McDonalds :| and so I ate 3 pieces of chicken and tore off the breading, and then IHOP in the morning I ate scrambled eggs and steak. The steak was horrible and just sat in my tummy for HOURS and HOURS ewww I felt wretched. I am glad I am home.
I started back to work, so posting on here will become less and less since I've gone back. My days are consumed with work and then making dinner when I get home because the DH doesn't know how to cook ugh. And then getting in 1/2-1 hour of walking has been truly hard, but I've been doing it.
I'm waiting for the scales to change, but how will that happen with fast food! So, back on track Monday eating only the good stuff that will support my weight loss. I wont beat myself up too bad, I truly did good for the food I had to choose from.
I hope you all are well. Great job on the 14 lbs! Hi again Julie! Ok all cya soon. *hugs*

Morning gals!
Good to see you all back. I am doing great. Down 25 lbs as of last week. More important though, I am feeling great.
Michelle, did you find out about the support groups? I have an appt. on Thursday and can ask for you if you haven't.
Christy - How is the new job? Are you enjoying it?
What about anyone else reading this? Jump on in.

Hi Julie!
Wow!! Congrats on the 25 lb. loss. I have not weighed myself for over a week. I am doing well but want to wait until this Friday to weigh myself. I didn't find out about the support groups yet. That would be great if you could ask.
Take care and let us know how your Thurs. appt. goes.

My appointment went well. Dr. Simpson said that he is very pleased with my progress and no fill for me yet. I will see him in another month again. I made a turkey dinner tonight and ate a bit of the dark meat. It was really good.
I will ask about the support group and let you know soon.
Christy, are you still going to the Christmas party?

I can't go to the party, my family is getting together. Originally I was going to go, but ahhhh well, family first. How are you doing Julie? Progress?

Juliebird,
I just read your post today. Welcome to Bandland! I hope surgery went well and you are able to rest and recover quickly.
You and I are in the same boat -- we both have lower BMI's. My weightloss has been somewhat slow. I have not weighed myself for over 3 weeks but have gone from a very tight 12 to a loose 12! YEAH!!
I am eating the foods I love (I do love chicken & veggies though) but in much smaller quantities, taking my vitamins and drinking plenty of water. I do not want to be "dieting" for the rest of my life. That is how I got fat so I steer clear of the diet mindset.
Please keep in touch and e-mail me any time if you have any questions.
Michelle

If you don't have my cell, let me know. I usually don't come to town except on weekends since it's too far to just go hang out. How is your weight loss coming along? I've been wondering about ya!

I'm going to be in Chandler until next weekend, does anyone know where I can go to weigh in?
I'm near the 202 at Dobson (yes...there's a hospital there, i'm here with my Dad who recently had a heart attack) and would just like to be able to get a definite weight.
Thanks Zonies.
