My surgeon said I could start back after 2 weeks. He said just take it slow. I had been going to curves before surgery. He said if there is a machine that bothers me just to skip it.
How long did y'all wait to workout? I am not too sore anymore. I think I am ok to start, but I always worry. . . I just don't want to sit out too long because I know it will be that much harder to get back in the swing of things.

whenyou can mange day to day actvities around the home ok, you should be fine. have you thought of trying to go for a walk to begin with. i;m prabably the not the bst preson to ask because of the wheelchiar but. I would thing that if you can manage around the home and going for a wal without discomfort you should be able to manage Curves. pain around the port site with abdominal movement s the most likely issues- good luck

I wanted to start doing weight at the Y. My dr told me to wait 4-6 weeks after surgery to start.
As always - best bet is to listen to your doctor, and to your own body!
Good luck!

for actual weight work involving the core muscles cathy is right that most Doctors want you to avoid the heavy stuff for 4 -6 weeks to allow the muscles to heal post surgery, you do not want to end up with incsional hernia ( not very likely after laprascopic surgery but that is what they are concenred about usually)
I started working out a month after surgery, but didn't lift weights until 6-8 weeks after. Good luck!! :)
PS: Your new pic is so cute!

My doctor told me after my 2 week follow up to start doing cardio, treadmill, ect. Weight lifting 6-8 weeks. I do stretchy band exercises for my arms and legs since no weights yet.

My Dr let me go walk on the treadmill after my first week. But, he said no weights and nothing to excess. So I have just walked to this point. I want to start back to doing weights. I see the Dr Thur so I'll ask him then.
