I'm anxious for the pics, too. Mine are on 35mm film on an unfinished roll...P'nut's are in her camera, but...I think she's a bit tied up with her class. I'm thinking it will be a while before we see any of them! LOL We'll just have to re-live our fun time a week later.:sad:

Hey lind! Welcome to b2g! Wow! I get to meet somone with bypass-to- band. How cool is that?! I'm sure Kim will keep you posted on our next lunch get-together. I hope you can come! Hello all my NC sistahs! I posted a few of these on another thread, but I'll put them here for convenient location. I had such a good time with all of you in Asheville and my evening/night with DivaGirl and her handsome hubby Bruce was unforgettable. Funny is already talking to me about bringing Sara to Florida and doing a girl's roadtrip up to NC. I miss y'all so much I'm truly ready to come back and stay longer and if you knew my history with NC you'd know how much of a compliment that is to ya!

Ok, here's a few of the highlights from our Asheville dinner on Sept. 16, 2006:

Dinner at the Outback Steakhouse on Tunnel Rd. I wish I had a picture of the first time I saw Kathy. I was standing at the door laughing and talking to the greeter who had just asked me, "Are you Divagirl or PhotoNut?" when I see this cute woman in a LOW CUT blouse (*grins at Kathy*) coming thru the resturaunt smiling and waving her arms up in the air. By the time we finished hugging, Divagirl and Bruce were coming in the door right behind us. More hugging ensued before we made our way to the table.. yup, more hugging there!

HI Kathy,
All you need is a simple thumbnail compression software application. I use the following freeware and it's very simple to use; http://www.fookes.com/ezthumbs/?Easy%20Thumbnails=2800. You'll find lots of uses for it with your new camera. The process makes it very simple to email any picture to your friends and family, as well as post on all the boards by uploading the thumbnail image file up from your own computer.

Just download the application, select the image file from it's current location on your computer, and define 1) in setting; a sufix like _th450, 2) in file; in very, very bottom of the left colum, select a new folder or what folder you want the new thumbnail file stored, 3) in the setting; max width (for example 450) & hight (again 450), and finally in setting; select "make". Also, if you want to play with the size before you make the image, there is a preview tab that will show you the final size.

Enjoy, enjoy and send me a picture.

Kathy, The size of your image is 200 x 150 pixels. Try changing the size under the 'setting' to 400 x 300 or bigger and it will double in size.

I did that, and it said it saved 5 more thumbnails (the group) but I can't find them. I also requested 800X800 so maybe that had something to do with it? Too big? heh. I'll mess with it. Ya'll got the gist of the cute pics, though, for now.

In fact, if you had not told us, we would not have known until the service). YEAAAAAAA!!!!! I am so proud of you! CONGRADULATIONS

Kim - I am so excited about getting to see Dr. V on Friday. He is everything you and others have said and more - he is even from my home area in Alabama; he is wonderful. Everyone in the pratice were exceptionally thoughtful. It was like being treated like a VIP compared to Duke on their best day. It is clear that Dr. Voellinger has carefullly selected a staff that understands his vision to support his patient with the best people for the job and who know what WLS is all about. I am so-o-o-o impressed. I will NEVER get over his having set-up a time EACH week for us lap-banders to just drop-in without having to make or WAIT on getting a fill appointment. I just still can not believe it. It's just incrediable and wonderful to know I will not have to go through that again. I am very excited to be able to have my band replaced and I am looking forward to the best part of my lap-band weight-loss journey with Dr. V and his great folks... Oh Kim, THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU . . . did I say thank-you!

KAREN - Your picture is a hoot and I so enjoyed getting to meet and know you better on Saterday. Did you have a great ride on Saterday afternoon . . . it was beautiful.

My dearest friend Dianne - Tell Kelly she is going to have to be our group's photographer and she did a great job. Thank-you for loving me and having me stay-over. The pink shirt and pants in the January pic are 5Xs and were getting big at that point. My Pooh shirt is a 4X and the shorts are 26/28. I cannot wear a 26/28 yet in most things, but a 4X definitely fits in pretty much anything I try on. Unfortunately, my boobs have fallen and they can't get up!

It's funny...no one noticed that I had lost weight for the longest time and then whammo. It really keeps me going, you know? Not that approval from others SHOULD be that important - but, I don't know, it does seem to help keep me on the straight and narrow. (like right now I came home from the theatre and wanted a nice glass of wine and some popcorn....but after hearing all of your glowing compliments, I think I'll make do with some herbal tea).

I ma the sam as you, for ages no one seemed to notice the weight loss ( unitl i mentioned it and then i thought they were being polite!) when i had lost 50 pounds people would say that something looked different but they had not been sure what it was. now that i have lost 95 pounds or so, i am regualrly getting comments on the fact that i am losing weight and how much better i look. LIke you i believe we should not be doing this to get the approval of others and i really don't think that is what i have been doing, but gee, it feels good when someone notices that you are losing weight!

Heather-Gurl--Tonya has written about her batwings and I have written about mine. I'm a pear shaped woman and that is where most of my loose skin is. It just makes me feel like I don't have the "right" to wear sleeveless clothes--I feel so self-conscious. At least with Tummy tucks, one could wear Spanx--but that's so hot...

It's a hard thing to face that skin doesn't go back to the way it was...I know a woman who had the bat wing surgery and her scars go to her elbow--however, I've heard now that they make ONE incision in your underarm and work from there.

This friend had her batwings and breasts done at the same time. Later she went in and had the total body lift!!!! You wouldn't believe it--she lost about 200 pounds and is about 40 years old. She wears a BIKINI!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't gone for any sort of consultation...but I think the batwing is the first thing I'd get--I call them my "Oprah arms" because do you notice that even if Oprah is wearing long sleeves that her arms dangle around??

Also remember that most of you are younger than I--so you won't have this problem!

When I lost a great deal of weight in my early 30's, I had a little bit of bat wing--but it started to tone up nicely.

I'm going to look on the web for prices and see how competitive this type of surgery is.

Ladies who are apples just get the firmest thighs and upper arms after they lose the weight.

I guess guys could be considered apples or pears too.

Kim, I'm sorry I never got back to you guys about getting together. I had no idea what time we were leaving, where we were going shopping, and what we would be doing when. My mom and I had a blast shopping, and she bought me some new clothes! I got three tops, capri pants, and several pairs of undies at Lane Bryant. I also got a top at Catherine's. The Lane Bryant clothes are all 26/28, although if it wasn't for my stupid stomach I could have worn a 22/24 in some things. THe top from Catherine's, however, is a 2X! I was so psyched! I tried on about 20 bras. I hate bras! The girl at LB didn't know what to put me in. I measure 44 which is what I am wearing. I actually measure a G cup but there is not way. RIght now, I'm wearing 44DDD in the soft cotton bras from LB. I tried underwires, I tried Playtex, I tried everything and nothing covered up the loose skin under my arms and right behind my arms on my back. Ugh! The bras I'm wearing right now cover it up great and are very comfy, but they aren't exactly putting the girls where they belong. At this point, I don't think there is anything that will put the girls where they belong, but that's beside the point! Anyway, Kim, sorry I never got back to you and let you know that I had no clue what we were doing.

Jen, I haven't had my labs yet. I assumed they would do them at Dr. B's office. Instead, he gave me a script to have them done elsewhere. I need to get to my doc's office here and get it done, I just haven't had time this week. Dr. B doesn't even do any labs until 6 months out. I'll be interested to see how they come out. I take my vitamins and B complex. I often forget my calcium, but everything else I take like clockwork! I'm hoping that my labs show that!

Diva, thanks for the compliment! Yes, I am proud of myself! I was convinced that I was going to be the person that this surgery didn't work for. Of course, I think everyone thinks that going in. I still sometimes think that I am not going to lose any more or that I'm going to stretch my pouch and gain everything back, but I know that isn't going to happen. Sometimes I think that even if I did't lose another pound, I would be happy, but I know that's not true. I didn't go through this to just get down to a 26/28 and stop. Anyway, I'm rambling and I need to get back to work. TTFN!

Hello all my NC sistahs! I posted a few of these on another thread, but I'll put them here for convenient location. I had such a good time with all of you in Asheville and my evening/night with DivaGirl and her handsome hubby Bruce was unforgettable. Funny is already talking to me about bringing Sara to Florida and doing a girl's roadtrip up to NC. I miss y'all so much I'm truly ready to come back and stay longer and if you knew my history with NC you'd know how much of a compliment that is to ya!

Ok, here's a few of the highlights from our Asheville dinner on Sept. 16, 2006:

Dinner at the Outback Steakhouse on Tunnel Rd. I wish I had a picture of the first time I saw Kathy. I was standing at the door laughing and talking to the greeter who had just asked me, "Are you Divagirl or PhotoNut?" when I see this cute woman in a LOW CUT blouse (*grins at Kathy*) coming thru the resturaunt smiling and waving her arms up in the air. By the time we finished hugging, Divagirl and Bruce were coming in the door right behind us. More hugging ensued before we made our way to the table.. yup, more hugging there!

Thanks, everyone! Unfortunately, I will not be able to come down Saturday. I keep trying, but something keeps coming up. My women's spirituality group usually meets the first Saturday of the month. We had another church event going on last Saturday so we're meeting this Saturday instead. I REALLY hope I can get down in December, but I don't know. Your meeting will be on Saturday, Dec. 8 if it's the second Saturday and my one-year appointment with Dr. B is on Wednesday, December 12. At 7 months post-op, I had cellulitis on my calves and it looks kinda gross. I wish I would have worn pants instead of capri pants in that picture. I also can't figure out why the last one is so much smaller than the first two. Oh, well! The next two posts will be my side-views and my face close-up.
