Basically, this guy says forget the Cardio, spend your exercise minutes doing strength training. My gut says...yeah, I think he's right! I can get a great heart rate going with strength training...I did at Curves, anyway.

One review on Amazon said "folks are losing weight because they are eating 1200 calories a day, not because they are lifting weights." But if you aren't doing all that sweaty heavy-breathing cardio, you aren't as hungry, you have more muscle mass, you can eat less without starving, and besides, I'm willing to keep it between 1200-1400 and feel like I'm doing fine.

I'm trying it. Let the treadmill gather dust. Now, where are those darn dumb bells, anyway?

I think you need both to be honest. Cardio is not the whole answer and nor is strength training.

But cardio strength training - circuit, boxing circuit, etc, that's an excellent way to exercise! Any strength training where you get your heart rate up and KEEP it up, not just the up/down you get with lifting a heavy weight, that's going to work fine and kill 2 birds with one stone. Stuff like Curves, while it remains vigorous enough for you - and if you get fit, you'll get to where its just not hard enough anymore - is really fantastic timewise. When you need more you just move onto a more mainstream gym.
