I am going for my 3rd fill thursday. After posting "what do you eat" question I realized I better call now for another fill. I am glad I did because I can't get in until late next week and the nurse said this time he may have to do it in the hospital, which means it may take longer to get set up for the fill...ugh. I am hoping he will do it in his office next week when he sees me, but if he does it in the hospital under flouro he can see if there is problems. Wish me luck on this fill.

I'm really glad you decided to get another fill. I think you will find the difference. If you don't go back for another. It took me 5 fills to hit my sweet spot. Good luck. Julie

Hey guys,
I currently after last week have 3cc's in my mini lowprofile 4cc's band and it was very tight at first. It's loosened up enough that i'm not going to get an unfill. Good luck and I bet when you get close to 3 it will be your sweet spot, it is mine.

goodluck with the fill, I have gone up and done a few times in terms of volume in the band so can testify that it definately can take a bit of fine tuning. I tink you will beglad once you get you next fill, just take it slow post fll because i have found that as I get closer to the sweet spot, it does not take as much for irritation and swelling to make me feel tight. always feel tight post fill for a few days ( i do fluids only that day, fluids to mushy the next and progress slowly from there sometimes over the next week. I know my situation is a bit different because of the ms swallowng issues but this slow and steady approach seems to work. you can alsways speed up if you don;t have issues

Karen,
My surgeon makes me do 2 days liquid and then slowly onto mushies and then back to solids. It is hard to go to liquids but I do it every time. I think most docs have a liquid day after fill...I think. I hope this doesn't make me too tight. I will probably ask him to do a smaller fill this time, like around .5cc's instead of 1cc. I have to see what he thinks.

I had .5cc's put in my band today, so that has me up to 2.5cc's in my 4cc band. My doc said if I don't find I have more restriction in 2 weeks to call back to come in for another fill. Right now it is a waiting game to see how this fill will do. I am on liquids for the rest of the day and he said I can move onto mushies for lunch tomorrow. He was very understanding about my frustration and he said it is his job to get me filled to a restriction that is good for me and to lose weight. He said just keep coming back until we get there and don't give up. I love my surgeon.
I am so thankful I have all of you to come to when I am feeling frustrated or need information. You guys rock!!!:hail:

sounds like you have a really supportive surgeon, he's a keeper! I am glad you feel a bit better about things after your fill- let us know how things are going

I am glad you have the support from him that you need. I agree with Karen, a keeper for sure!!
I hope things go well with the mushies tomorrow. Just take it slow. I am always afraid after a new fill, personally, that I will start on solids and find I am overfilled. LOL

I go for my 3rd fill on May 7th and I really hope that I get to that sweet spot. I have a small amount of restriction but not enough to really do me any good. I stay hungry and the only thing that I've found to sort of keep me satisfied and not run up my carbs or calories is coffee. I tend to drink coffee all day with splenda and sometimes with a spoonful of sugar free/fat free chocolate syrup to make me think that I'm really having a treat. According to my scales I haven't lost but a couple of lbs since my last fill and that was over 2 weeks ago. I have had to really fight for every ounce. I'm walking 30 minutes a day - getting in my protein and water -- I'm just really frustrated. As hard as I'm trying I should be doing at least 2 lbs per week. I'm keeping my calories around 1000 give or take 100 calories per day. I've had no sugar. What am I doing wrong? My first 2 fills already have me at 3.5 cc in a 4.0 cc.

Belinda,
I feel the same way you do. I am not eating much either but I guess it is still too much. My calorie intake is between 1,000 to 1,200 a day. I guess I am going to have to get really strict with myself and eat very very little carbs. I am trying to figure out what the heck my body needs to lose weight. I know I shouldn't compare myself to others but so many others are losing weight and not even dieting. I still have to diet while having this band. I didn't think I would have to but I guess I am one of those people that weight will not leave me. I am at the point where I am feeling this whole thing is a failure. I need to get a grip and pull my boot staps up and keep fighting. This is so frustrating. I have 2.5 cc's in my 4 cc band. Maybe I need more.
I think now that the weather is warmer I am going to walk outside agin. I have been doing walk away the pounds in my house which has actually made me work up a bigger sweat than when I walked outside but I am going to try the outside walking again and see what happens. Even if I have to walk in the rain. I didn't get this surgery for nothing. I have to lose this weight...I HAVE TO.
Hang in there. I wish you all the best. We can do this.
Tina
