I know everyone is different but I'm curious about weight loss directly after a fill. I understand that you are on liquids and even mushies for a few days out from a fill, but I'm just curious about the average weight lost in the first week.
First fill and all subsequent fills - How long did the feeling of restriction last for you, 3 weeks, 1 month or several months?

I always get a burst of weight loss after a fill... partially because of my docs strict post-fill rules (48 hours liquids, 48 hours mushies, then gradually build back up to regular food) and partially from the new restriction. The burst was anywhere from 2-10 lbs in a few days.
My fills have lasted about 2-3 months each, and I am hoping this is the last one... as I am within 15% of my goal weight.

I lost the most of my weight after my first fill. I even charted it. Here it is:
1st week: 4 lbs.
2nd week: 3 lbs.
3rd week: 2 lbs.
4th week: 2 lbs.
I lost a steady 2 lbs after that until about 3 months later. My fill just slowly got lose, probably because I had lost so much weight. I could feel a difference at about 2 months because I realized I was able to eat bigger portions again.
My most recent fill I had 4 months ago. It worked great for about 3 weeks & then it was like NOTHING! I couldn't even tell I had a fill. Now, 4 months out it's kicked in again. I am feeling tight & it's not even that time of the month. :)
These bands are finicky!! I wonder if it has anything to do with stress.
How did your fill go Telly? Are you feelin' it?!?!

That's exciting! I'm excited about this.
Yet again, my TOM is here and I am going through some crazy golf ball feelings. Is it ..again that I am experiencing that strange phenomenon of "when you schedule your fill, you become instantly restricted" feeling. I feel something today.

Diane, I haven't had it yet. It's scheduled for Sept. 15th, next week and I'm nervous about it. Maybe my sudden tight feeling is due to stress, which can tighten people up, so I hear but I'm not sure.
Anyway, I am stressed about this and I am not sure why. I think it's the whole "Digging around" of Amy's fill that's got me all uptight.

Not sure about week one...could have been around 5-7 pounds? But I do know it seems like after I get a fill, I take of 20-30 pounds that first month. Now you on the other hand....will prolly lose that the first week. ;-)

I have only had two fills. 1st at 6 weeks post-op and 9 weeks post-op. I am still properly filled after 25 weeks.

I usually get a little burst of a kilo or two after a fill and then it trickles off very slowly until the next one. Stops for weeks at a time.
But I lose the most weight in the first six weeks, before I'd been filled, I lose 10kg in that time.

My first fill is Sept 12. I am going through something very similar Telly. All of sudden since Friday I have been tighter. Not as tight as I should be, but very noticable. I thought I was crazy. Someone mentioned to me today that it could be a monthly thing though. Very possible. How long do you have to wait between fills if it doesn't supply adequate restriction? Another six weeks?

I lost 7 lbs the week after my first fill (Aug. 17th). Then I went back to my 3-4 a week after that.

How were you doing before your first fill? Were you restricted at all?

Foodstamp,
It will be a breeze, especially if they use the fluro. I go to Dr. Curry who posts on the lapbandtalk forum and he uses the fluro and hits it first time with fluro and it takes about 4 seconds.
Telly, I'm with you girlfriend. T.O.M. has come to visit and I actually am showing a gain of 2 pounds. Boy did I hit the treadmill and the bike riding outside and my dh is like, you know where that came from quit freaking out.
I think he gets tired of hearing the word band.
I can tell right off the bat with a new fill but it seems like after having perfect restriction 2 weeks ago with my 2nd fill that is was starting to loosen up until yesterday and then T.O.M. seems to have tightend it right back up.

With my first fill Telly I lost a few pounds here and there, then I was able to eat like normal. So I went back for my second one at the beginning of March and that one has been perfect. It is strange that back in March I could eat Hamburger Helper or mac and cheese with no problem. Now, all of the No-No foods do not go down. Like my fill finally worked itself into proper restriction????
Whatever it is doing... I am VERY pleased. I am steadily losing and as long as I am not gaining... Life is Good.
My first fill did nothing really. The second one kicked off major weight loss for awhile (2 monhs) then stalled. The third one was about the same. Once I get back from VA, I may go have another.

I got my first fill less than a week ago and after the first day I felt NOTHING. I am so hungry all the time. It is so weird. When I had my surgery, for the first six week I hardly had any hunger feelings, but I could still eat whatever and how much I wanted. Then on Sept 12 I got my first fill (1.25 cc in a 4cc band) and now my hunger is back and I can STILL eat whatever I want. I'm on my 5th day straight of 1200 calories a day but I am struggling same as before surgery. My next fill is scheduled for Oct. 16th. I hope this works.

My first fill, I had restriction for a few days. I even almost pb'd. But now I am wie open and feel nothing! I just scheduled my next fill for oct. 3. I could have done it sooner but i fly up to idaho the weekend of september 29th and i would hate to have funky restrictionfrom a new fill and have to get unfilled in an er.
