I've got AARP/Medicare D coverage--does anyone have any experience with getting them to pay for the supplements?

If not, can someone give me some names of commonly prescribed ones, so I can check the formulary. Also, any average noninsurance prescription costs would be appreciated.

Affording the supplements is pretty much the last piece of the puzzle for me as to whether or not I can afford this--I'm on disability and my income is very limited (and unfortunately WLS won't solve enough of my health problems to allow me to return to work.) I know my grocery costs should shrink, but not sure they'll drop that much since I'm not the only one in the household.

Thanks,

Marci

well i know that any sort of supplement is not covered by most insurances because it is not required by the docs, or a prescription medication. as for what the typical ones are, they vary quite a bit from person to person.

you really need to basically get yourself on a multivitamin. a liquid one is better than a pill, since you will be able to swallow it easier. try to find something that is as complete as possible so you are not spending more than you need to. this should be enough to help you with any of your vitamin needs.

what are the other issues that wls is not going to fix that you need a vitamin for? any other health issues we should know about?
