What are you going to do with all the money that you save from food and high priced fat clothes?

We figured we save about $150 a month on smaller grocery bills, and I will eventually save about $500 a month on clothes. yes...i buy a lot of clothes.

So Iam putting it all in a fund to save up for something. just not sure what yet. Let me here your ideas of what you would put your money towards.

Save $? How is that possible when it's so fun shopping for clothes you could never fit into before.

I was always a mac n cheese kinda girl, so now that I'm buying meat and produce I think my grocery bills have stayed the same or increased. I could eat a week on ramen noodles and mac n cheese for like $10!

It's still worth it though!

Phwa ha ha ha!!!!! Save money?! I haven't saved any!! Here's an idea of how I'm using my money:

Then/Now
$1 Menu at McDonalds/$4.99 salad
Mac & cheese or hot dogs/proteins, cheeses & lots of fruits & veggies
chocolate milk/protein drinks
didn't work out/joined a gym at $50 a month
didn't buy updated clothes/I buy a new outfit a week!
no work-out clothes or shoes/lots of work-out clothes & replacing shoes
Rarely had my hair done/have it done professionally every 6 weeks!

And, I'm still paying off the bill from surgery!! :) :)

I may be an odd ball, but when I started losing the weight, my life changed. I felt good about me & started taking care of me. Thus, I spent more money on me. :wof:

It feels good to actually take care of myself & like me for who I am.

Okay, I think I spoiled your thread Funny...   Sorry!! Back to the original topic. What do YOU do with your extra $$$?!?!?!

I have started a cruise fund. I have never been on a cruise and always been too embarrassed to go because of my weight. So, when I hit 100 pounds gone, I am going on a cruise and I cannot wait!

I agree with you Dianechef...I just made the comment today "who would have thought it so expensive to get skinny". Oh well it so worth it. Oh day I will be saving money.

Funny you spend how much on clothes a month...Oh my goodness I think my DH would divorce me...unless I was buying just as much for his bike. hehe..

oops. i meant per year on the clothes. LOL clothes are usually half that price the smaller you are.

plus when i get to goal i am only wearing bikini tops an shorts. lol that should cut the budget down.

Unfortunately I have not noticed any extra dollars in my pocket. In fact I had to get my acrylic nails taken off the other day as I just do not have the time or money for the upkeep, both boys have their feet out of the ends of their shoes and I need a couple of new bras desperately and we just keep saying "next month" to everything. It struck me as ridiculous to be paying $35a fortnight for pretty nails when my kids dont have shoes.

As for food, well it costs more to eat better quality food, so I may eat less but I eat better and if anything the grocery bill has gone up. I also still tend to buy coffees and food when out, I just buy healthier food.

Its actually put us under quite a bit of financial pressure in our day to day lives because I keep needing stuff in smaller sizes, and it means everyone else in the family has to go without. We're going away on Tuesday up north where it will be warm and Eliza literally has nothing to take, 3 year olds have an annoying habit of growing.

So no savings here unfortunately.

man the $$$$ has flown by the droves since I had surgery. I had surgery, bought a new car, am going back to school so $$ has increased in flowing out, but all for good things. I needed a new car, esp one to get me to school, and I don't like debt, but I have more energy now to pay it off! I've bought some clothes, but my weight fluctuated so much, its like I have a bunch of clothes I fit in I haven't fit in in years, so for that I am thrilled!

Spending it all on clothes and Lean Quizines. I haven't saved a dime. Even my husband brings it up from time to time when I go grocery shopping. But it is well worth it.

I'm in the "spend more now" camp. I used to be able to wear cheap bras from Walmart, now I buy from VS lol

Mrs. NateNate - We actually have the same thing going on here. Our grocery bill is shockingly high. Dawg eats Healthy Choice meals everyday. I eat the small 2 entree Healthy Choice meals for lunches. We buy 20 cans of tuna at a time. Frozen Gorton's Grilled Fish Fillets are a staple in my diet, and at $3 a box, they add up quickly. Add in all of the fresh fruits and veggies that are worth their weight in gold and the various other goodies like canned fruit and Pop Secret popcorn, and the bill is well over $160 a week. Not counting the fill-in trips during the week.

The only place I see a real savings is when we go out to eat. We split meals now and don't buy drinks. Huge difference.

Although, I do have to say that even at $200/week we must be saving a lot over the days when we ate out three times a day. We had to be spending $45-50 a day PLUS buying groceries for home.

Mmmmm, that Pop Secret popcorn is DELICIOUS. I buy the 100 calorie packs. And the grilled fish fillets, in all different flavors, my favorite are the garlic flavored. And tuna, don't get me started on the tuna. Seems like our grocery lists are identical :).

Hopefully the money we're saving on our grocery bill (*secretly laughs thinking of all of the pizza that Lenny eats*) will go towards everything for a baby (*crosses fingers*) and my future plastic surgery needs.

I want my bewbies lopped off and a TT which I know I will need. Also, I got accepted into Western International University wooohooo, so I'm sure there will be some expense there (my company pays anywhere from 80-100% books and tuition)
