What is your goal weight and how did you arrive at that number?

I used to be 100 pounds. I felt the best at 110. Since I have had kids I figure that my goal of 130 is comfortable an attainable. Once I get there I will reassess and see if I could do with more loss.

My goal has been up and down and all around since Day 1! I never discussed a goal weight with my Dr. because I wanted to focus on other things in the beginning, like eating healthy.
I originally stated 175 lbs. for goal. Because that is what I weighed in the 6th grade.
Then I changed to 199 because DH already thinks I am too skinny now.
Then I went to my Family Practice Dr. and he said I would be doing good at 200, but it would be great to get to 180 lbs. SO... I say 180, but I secretly dream of 175 lbs.
Keep in mind I am 5'-10" with a large frame.

I was 503...which was a total shock btw...almost threw up when I saw it.

I figured half. Half is reasonable...from there I will start thinking again. When I first spoke to the therapist and nutritionist I said I didn't know what someone 6'4" should weigh...mebbe 180...she laughed...I was a little upset by being laughed at, but felt better when she said higher. I asked what she thought was reasonable and she said start with 300...I like a challenge so I countered with 250.

503, You are going to be looking great at 250. I am sure you will look skinny.
My hubby is 6'-4" and currently weighs 315. He wants to weigh 275 I believe.

I am 5'6" with a very large frame and my personal goal is 170. I weighed about 180-190 in high school and always thought of myself as "fat!" Ha! What I wouldn't give to be that weight now. Anyway, I went on my first diet my senior year (the beginning of a lifetime of yo-yoing) and got down to 155. I looked and felt great at that weight.

I got down to about 185 (from 250+) after college when I spent a summer working in Thailand. I have pictures from that summer with me standing next to three American friends who have no weight problem and I looked pretty normal in comparison.

I settled on the 170 number because it seems like a healthy number that I think I will look and feel good at. It is also between the top weight my nutritionist came up with (158) and my original goal which was 180.

Whew--that was a long winded reply!

Oh I forgot to say I am 5ft4.

503, my husband Rob is 6 ft and the charts say he should be like 150. that is insanity. He weighs 180 now and if he goes any lower he will have his ribs sticking out. Its that highland scottish build. hehehehe

I was given my goal weight of 165 from my Bariatric program nurse. She said that if I get the lap-band at 367, that was as much as the lap-band would bring me down.

Now, that I am losing so well on my own, I'm thinking to get down to 300, then the lap-band should take me down to 98? OK, that's more than I would want to lose. I would LOVE to be 125 again.

As for goals...
I started at 450. 5'2"
My goal for December 31, 2006 is 300.
My goal for December 31, 2007 is 200.
My goal for December 31, 2008 is 125.

But I will just name 165 as a distant goal for now.

Hi all...

I'm 5'6" and medium framed. But I'm a geezer, so I'm thinkin' 150 would be low enough for me. I feel good at that weight.

My PCP set my goal to be 130 - 140 based on my height 5'4" and BMI. If you go by my wrists, I have a small frame. My all time low weight was 104 when I was a Senior in High School. I know that is not a healthy weight for me because the only reason I weighed that was because I ate too little and drank too much which I always vomited after drinking! I do not want to get below 130 and I would be perfectly happy at 150.

The lowest "healthy" weight I can remember was 190 so that's what I'm shooting for... I'll adjust once I get there.

I was anorexic as a teenager and got down to 135 (at that time I was 5'10" and have a large frame) (I've lost 2" of height now though.. only 5'8")

I am looking for 140. I told my surgeon that and he said he thinks it is a reasonable goal. I was around 120 in high school, which I know I will never get down to again. However, I feel like 140 would be perfect for my age, height (5'4") and build.

Well I have been asked this before but I don't know was the answer. Right now I just want to get below 200. So my short term goal is 199. I will look over it again when I get there. I can't even remember when I was there..so that will be huge for me. I would like to be in a size 10/12 so that is my goal...we will see what weight that is when I get there. :)

Oh I am 5'9....

I really do not have a "goal" weight, I just spit out the 140 ...really took a guess..I dont know what my body is actually capable of, and when I feel like I look and feel good for me...than I will stop shooting for the stars....

I have always weighed around 145 to 150 my whole life until 2 years ago and after the explosion and 3rd degree burns, I was on crutches for months to start to walk again and the weight pilled on. Then, last year the car wreck and surgery to completely remove my disc and put in plates to stabilize my spinal cord, then 3 months later to the day foot surgery, so It was impossible to exercise, so here I was at a whopping 269 pounds. I made them do it 3 times because I told them it couldn't be right, well, after lots of crying and spiritual deal making I decide on a goal of 145 where I use to be. It made need to be changed later, but fine for now I think. I'm 5'8" tall anyway.

I'm 5ft 10, and throughout my 20's I easily maintained 78kg but that was a tad porky. My goal is 75, I'd really like to be 70, I may be tall but I dont have a really large frame, I need to be light not to have too much body fat.

So what's that, 154 lb would be my ideal dream weight, but I'd be happy with 165. That'd be about an Australian 14 (US 12) which is perfect for somebody tall

According to the BMI charts, at 6'1" tall, I'm NORMAL at 189 lbs.

It was my goal.

Now, at 217, I feel pretty good. I am going to shoot for 199, and see how I look and feel there.

My initial goal weight was 145. Then when I passed that, I changed it to 135. Now that I'm below that, I'm aiming for 125. I don't think I want to go below that. My husband said he would divorce me if I got too skinny. He likes women with a little meat on their bones:).

My goal weight is currently 160. Based on how I feel when I look in the mirror, that number may change.

My goal weight is 140....my sister is 1 inch taller than me (5'5) and has lost over 100 lbs and weighs 140 and looks skinny! So I figure 140 is fair game for myself -- if I don't keep shrinking!

hey - anyone out there have a stretching rack so I can be taller?

My goal is 180, Im 5'8". I was at the Dr's office the other day and he has my goal weight at 143. My mouth hit the dam floor. 143????
I am struggling with that number. It doesnt seem rational, then again. I've never in my life been thin, so I am gonna stick at 180-170 range

The chart In my Drs office said 150, I thought.. what ever Im 5 ' 6" .. I havent been 150 since the 5th Grade, and then I started going over old photos of me, I can Vaguely remember being 170 ( alot of teenage drug use) at age 19
and as a adult I have photos of 190 and I think wow I look good.. I think I would be too skinny at 150.. so I added 15 pounds and now my goal is 165.

When I first started this journey I was convinced that 150 would be my goal weight but as I am getting thinner I am realizing that that would be too thin for me since I have a large bone structure and am almost 5'8''. I am shooting for 160 but may try to get to 155 IF I can get to 160. It is definately harder to get those last 10 lbs off thats for sure. My body seems quite content teetering around 170 and everybody at work says that I look good and at goal but I want to lose at least 10 more lbs. Since my band is completely unfilled right now due to being too tight I am just focusing on maintaining until I can get some saline added in 2 weeks. At that point I will try to lose the last 10lbs.

I am a 5'2" small framed person. I was comfortable at my weight of 98lbs in 10th grade, and I think I was only 5' at that point. Then I got pregnant and gained WAYYYY too much weight and never lost it and so began my yo-yoing. My goal is to be 120. My husband wants me to shoot for 115, but I told him that 120 was a healthy weight and going to be hard enough to get to. If I lose 5 lbs more after that, so be it, but I am not trying to get down to 115. I just think he was bieng a pig headed idiot, LOL. The funny thing about my weight is that when I tell someone how much I weigh or how much I weighed at my heaviest, they ask me where I keep it. I just told them that they haven't seen me naked, LMAO!

My goal weight was 65kg / 143lbs. Before my TT I ended up at 63kg / 138lbs, and have lost down to 59kg / 129lbs.

I honestly thought 65kg / 143lbs was a pipe dream right up till I got there. I was content to stay there, but my body has different idea's I guess! I can't say that I am unhappy at 59kg / 129lbs, but I am in an Aussie size 8 at this stage, and size 6's are very hard to come by here (unless you spend $100 on a T shirt in Myers!) So I think I would like to stay where I am. So I am thinking I may need an unfill.

With my height the weight chart says I should be between 165 - 175 lbs and I just couldn't even believe that but now that I am 2 lbs from a normal weight range I can actually see it.

For me 180 was good enough but now that I am almost at 175 lbs, I know I will stop. I am very close to a size 10 and with some toning I should make it there. My goal was a size 12 but now I think 175 will have me at a solid size 12 pants and 10 skirts so I'll take it.

About a year ago I made my goal of 165. I have been overweight all my life so have no idea how I will look and will change that number once I look in the mirror say "done" lol. I hit 185 this morning and that was a little scary....thats only 20 pounds, wow.

Im 5'9ish and large framed Id say. Some people are saying I am looking so skinny now, but I don't see it yet, so we will see what people think and what I fell at 165.

The ideal weight charts say 130 - 144. I chose the middle/high end of the range. My doc said that was a reasonable and attainable goal.

I actually remember 140. I felt a little plump. Plump is good.

I'm 5'10" and have a large frame too (I hate my big wrists...would love little delicate ones but never mind). Right now I want to see 199 and from then on I'll see how I feel, what I'm wearing and adjust where I want to be as I go along. Getting below 200 is dream come true, anything more is like asking for too much somehow.
