I do not start my full liquid diet until next week, but I thought I would try to replace a few meals this week just to give it and test run and see which drinks I liked. So last night I replace a meal with a protein shake (whey protein isolate, the kind my Dr. says) I felt fine all night and when I got up this morning I was ok. I took a shower and when I got out, I felt light headed, my ears started ringing, got a cold sweat and felt like I was going to be sick. I sat down and my hubby brought me some gatoraide (also Dr.'s suggestion) After drinking a few sips of that I felt fine.

I emailed my surgeon's nurse and she said that this was a normal response and my body probably just needed the electrolytes. Anywho . . .did this happen to anyone else while on liquids? If so, how much? I felt fine the rest of the day, so I am not too worried about it. Just wanna know what to expect. Thanks!

Okie. Right now you don't have a band and sometimes a protien shake isn't totally enough. I have hypoglycemia, so if I don't eat enough then I get super light headed, shakey and faint. You just made a big transition by substituting a meal with a shake (especially when it is dinner and possibly the last thing you ate that day.)

Just be careful. Make sure when you gwt up in the morning to grab something right away if you experience this a lot.

I hope this helps :)
