Here are some commonly used abbreviations (acronyms) for weight-loss surgery, band-specific, and general medical terms:

PB: "productive burp" -- this term is applied to the act of "burping up" food that is unable to pass through the banded portion of the stomach. PBs are usually the a result of eating foods which are known to be problematic for bandsters; swallowing before the food is properly chewed; or as a result of eating more than the banded pouch can hold. Because the food has yet to reach the digestive acids in the stomach, it tastes the same as it did going down. However, PB'ing is also loosely term used to describe a wide variety of experiences that can occur when food becomes 'stuck'. These can range from mild discomfort or pressure behind the breastplate (golf ball) to more extreme experiences which involve the production of large quantities of saliva (sliming) and even vomiting.
