Aussie Band Camp???

Hi everyone,
Just shooting for some ideas / interest in having an Aussie version of Band Camp during 2007. Some of us had discussed the idea of a weekend away late last year, and it's popped up again recently. Seems to me that the time is right to think about planning a gathering for later in the year.

Post away with any ideas for venue or timing, or just register your interest in coming along. In my mind, we would ideally find somewhere that had a variety of accomodation in the one place (eg. hotel / cabins / camping) to cater for as many budgets and preferences as possible.

Also, with only a few Aussies here at b2g right now, it would be a great call to go ourt and spread the b2g word amongst our wider support networks.

So how about it??? I already got my flute packed...:heh:

I'll be there with bells on - well one particular Austrian bell anyway!!! Havent camped in a tent since I was too young to remember, have done the camper trailer bit when the kids were young, but what the heck - this is a brand new me - i will give tenting a go, can borrow from son and d i l , they will think it hilarious. Good idea though including cabins, etc as some of those can be pretty swish, friends away this weekend in bendigo and having a 3 bedroom cabin. Location????? where are you thinking Goanna?

I'd be interested at some stage-I'd love to meet you guys! never sure about travel these days though- Don't amke any special allowances for wheelchar- just see what fits the rest of you and if I can get the time off etc I will fit in

I would be SO interested in this. We bought a tent only last weekend, down in Leongatha and we are going to want to christen it. So yes yes yes.

Where are most of us from - Melbourne?

We have you, me and tarajane in Melb, Kebsa is in Adelaide, Kelliebelly is in Sydney, and AussieChick is in Brisbane. If we were going for camping somewhere central, that would be the likes of Broken Hill - eeek! LOL!

Seriously, we could go in NSW somewhere - there's plenty of great places, and travelling would be reasonable from SA / QLD / VIC.

I vote that we make it late in the year - September or so, that way there's plenty of time to work it out for the family holidays / budgets.

I'll have another think about locations, and post back.
