Hi everyone! I finished my evals last week - psych, exercise and nutritionist. I had my big consult the week before that and I'm just waiting for the Upper GI study to get scheduled. Hopefully that will be the last thing before the packet gets sent off to insurance. If there is any concern about the UGI I might have to get an endoscopy too but I hope not!! I had one of those before and would rather not go through that again! Or at least I will beg them to knock me out cold so I don't hear them or feel what they are doing - ugh! I have been doing the exercises and following the nutrition behaviors to practice - chewing 30 times, not drinking with meals and making each meal last 30 minutes. It's funny, I'm already not so interested in eating because it takes forever! I'm eating less because I feel full, even without the band yet, so that is pretty cool! It is really hard to make the meals last so long - I didn't realize how fast I usually eat - can we say SCARF?
Well, just wanted to post an update. Looks like there are quite a few of us around the same stage in the process - I'm looking forward to entering bandland together - I can't wait!!s

Congrats Gina! Hopefully you will know soon about your insurance. I think that this is the most stressful time, at least it was for me. I found out last week, now I am just waiting to hear from Dr. V's nurse for my date (it feels like it is taking forever :) Just been 3 days!) We might have surgery kinda close together.
Oh yeah just saw on the bottom of the page
:birthdaycake1:Happy B-day!!!

I'm pretty much at the same spot you are. My surgeon won't let me have the GI until they receive the approval from UHC. I hope we will get the good news together!

Hi Gina,
I have just completed all of my evaluations as well. I went for a barium swallow last week, yuck !! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_28_108.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZUYYYYYYYYUS). The only things that I have left to accomplish is to get the balance of the lifestyle fee's in and my documentation for the nutritionist, and exercise therapist. Then everything will be sent to UHC. Hopefully everything will be submitted by the end of April to the insurance company.
It has been a challenge to follow the 30 rules but I have been progressing. I miss my coffee http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_11_11.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZUYYYYYYYYUS) I got it bad!!!! I started a journal and I am working on the head stuff. This is not an easy journey but it will be worth all of the effort put in to it.

I had by barium swallow test today - yuck!! I am glad that is behind me!! I'm working on my nutrition and exercise stuff and practicing the 30 rules - it is hard but I'm getting better at it. I have a hard time remembering to do it or to keep doing it through the whole meal. I guess I am easily distracted. I know when I have the negative reinforcement of possible PAIN if I'm not doing it, I will pay a lot more attention! I bet our surgeries will be very close together - I'm getting excited and can't wait to get it all situated and have an actual date. Of course I'm sure I'll freak out a bit too! I always look around and wonder if I'll see any of you b2gers at Dr. Vs office!
Yuck...barium is nasty!! I'm glad that part is over for you. Good luck with the rest of your tests. Keep us updated!

Hey Hope. I got a lot of samples from Dr. V. I am going for my pre-op class tomorrow, so I am gonna get some more. I like the Caribbean cooler, the cappuccino, chocolate and vanilla. I also went to the vitamin shoppe and picked up some. I had one that was peanut butter chocolate and a chocolate mint that is the shoppe's own brand. That was really good. I am also eating cream soups blended at lunch and dinner. Also SF Popsicles and jello. I go back and forth being hungry or not. I think it all mental. I got like 97 g of protein monday and 86 today so I should not be hungry. I just want to chew something. So I got some gum. . .not what I wanted but I got my eyes on the prize!
Congrats to everyone moving closer to getting a date.
stac1982, I also go to my pre op class tomorrow, insurance packet was sent today so I am crossing my fingers!!!!!!!!
Good luck to everyone.
