Good Morning All...My name is Dawn and I have a question....I had my 1st fill about 7 weeks ago....1.5cc's....I went to my surgeon yesterday for a follow up appt. and also a fill....So I told him that after the 1st fill, which was done in the hospital, didnt seem to do much for me....He aspirated what was in the port to see how much was in there and there was only .5cc's....How did 1cc magically disappear??? I was wondering if this had happened to anyone...Thanks and have a great Saturday...

Dawn

Hi Dawn. That can happen and from what I understand it could happen for a couple of reasons. Sometime the fill can evaporate or it can be caused by a leaky port. I wouldn't be overly concerned just yet, but I would keep a close eye on it. There are some on here who have experienced this and I am sure they will chime in.

Hi Dawn,

This happened to a friend of mine, and her subsequent fills have been fine. But like Neal said keep an eye on things for a while.

The first fill seems to always loose some. It is usually because of the air in the tubing. I had the same thing happen with my first fill. I went in and had 2.5 cc's put in and then when I went back there was only 2 cc's. It is perfectly normal for this to happen.

Yep, I agree with most on here. I have heard that is pretty common with the first fill but as you get more it does not happen so much. I would definitely keep an eye on it though.

I had this happen with my first fill. It can also be cause by some of the fluid getting stuck in the band and them not being able to withdraw all of it. Its perfectly normal, and i would not worry until you have a number of fills where there seems to be missing fluid. that would point the finger at having a leak.

Ok I just wanted to agree....It's happens. Now like they said if it happens at every fill then he should probably go back to fluro so that he can watch it and make sure there is no leak. :)
