I have decided that since we have a new forum, I will use this opportunity for a new (re)start. I have been backsliding a bit. Summer BBQs, chips and dips, alcohol. A couple of lbs gained. So, since joining this new forum, I have backed off (but not totally eliminated) alcohol, and NO MORE CHIPS!!! And drinking more water.

Lost 2 lbs.

Sounds like a plan. But hey, don't be so hard on yourself. This lifestyle change was never promised to be easy, but with a support forum like this, you can have that positive reinforcement you need to help get you there.

You'll do fine.

I hear ya Stitchy - since school started my days have been turned upside down - and eating is a challenge - summer spoiled me and I could choose when/what to eat and with classes I have to plan ahead a lot more

I find that I go up & down all the time. I will do good for awhile & then I get stressed out or something crazy happens to get me off my routine & I'm back to the chips & salsa.

However, what I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE about this band is that I cannot binge. Pre-band I would always gain weight when I got off my good eating routine. But, I simply can't do that!! So, when I start eating the crap, I maintain. Then, when I get my head back in gear again, I start to lose.

This band really has saved my life. :) :)

Stichy - we all understand exactly what you're going through. YOU CAN DO THIS!!

Stitchy, I am totally there with you. I had a sour outlook on things, I was not losing but a few here and there, and was oing way too much "fun food" so I am going to use the new board as a new beginning. I got my fill yesteray, and it is working well. I am down 3 of my 6 meals, and am totally not hungry in between. I want to be a success and I want the board to be a success, so I am going to make the two go hand in hand.

This is EXACTLY why I want the band! I can diet. I'm very good at dieting for a few weeks or months at a time, but I get sick of it and end up binging. Of course, that usually happens around the holidays and during summer. I go off a diet and boy do I go off a diet! I go from one extreme to another and unfortunately I can seriously down some food. This is what I sincerely hope the band will solve for me. It's always been about how much I eat, not what I eat. I will eat a bag of chips or a bag of celery, but the problem is that I will eat the whole bag of either. I know the band will let me do that.

Tonya - That is what the band has done for me. My weight gain was also from eating too much. I didn't (and still don't) generally snack much between meals, but when I did eat, I didn't stop.

The last month, I was getting tired of *being good* and ate some yummy crap. However, pre-banding I would have eaten the entire whatever it was I was craving. Now, I just can't do it. So, instead of gaining 10 lbs this month (which would have been easy to do), I gained only 2. Now, I am ready to get myself back on the program. Even when I don't do the right things, my band is there waiting for me to come back.

Everyone else: I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that has been having a stall. Summer's about over. Kids are back in school. Schedules can be made. YES!! WE CAN DO IT!:Banane24: :Banane24:

Ok, Stitchy, if you can give up the chips, then I will follow your lead and give up the cheetos and ice cream. It is going to be a real sacrifice though.

I guess I need to though, after posting my weight loss on the running totals thread, I feel kind of bad about how slow I am going.
