APPROVED my request to pay for the surgery!!!!! :yahoo:

I have insurance through my employer and BCBS requires that:

1. I be employed with the for five years - CHECK
2. Provide six months of weight loss records - CHECK (been doing WW since August)
3. Complete a psych evaluation - called to request an appoinment

The doctor's office said if I can get the eval done in the next week, that I could be banded and branded within 6 weeks!

I am so excited and scared all that the same time.

hey thats great! i also have insurance through my company. they said they will cover it. but i have a $400 deductable which i definatly dont mind! and all i have to do is have the doctor mail them a letter saying i qualify for the surgury. ive only been with the company for 7 months. i was surprised all they needed was a medical letter. but hey-i have my appt on apr 9th (only 34 days!) for my evaluation then im on my way. :) good luck!

My psych eval was today. I was nervous as heck -- sweaty palms, didn't sleep well, jittery -- the whole nine yards. It went so much better than I could have ever imagined. The doc was super nice, totally understanding and just wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to turn to drugs and/or alcohol after the surgery. I stopped by the surgeons office after my appointment, dropped off the eval and my WW weigh in book. They hope to have the final approval from insurance and a surgery date scheduled by the end of next week. Once I have a date, I'll schedule all the other pre-op stuff. I'm not good at the waiting game!
