I got my third fill on Wednesday which brought me to 2cc's in my 4 cc band. I told my nutritionist that I was able to eat more than I thought I should, that I felt like I was still able to eat fast and noticed that I was taking larger bites and getting away with it, oh, and the weight loss has stopped!! She and I both agreed that it was time for a fill, and I got in right after meeting with her for a fill. I feel a good rescriction, which I like, but I have had to work on slowing down eating again and as you can imagine, chew chew chewing again! I have had several "stuck" incidents the first 2 days, but today, I am back to being a good bandster and putting my fork down between tiny bites of food and counting my bites like it should be.

This weekend, we have been landscaping our backyard and I am soooo sore tonight (Sunday). I am aching so badly, that I decide to take something for the pain. I took 4 (200mg each) ibuprophen. After swallowing them, I realize very quickly that I may have trouble with these pills..............oh yes! Felt stuck and heard lots of gurgling and whirling in my pouch, uncomfortable, but then it passes, BUT the stuck feeling returns and is painful and I begin to slime - Big time and then it happens........I throw up, 3 times!!! Just a little comes out and I can't see the pills, but I feel better, but not for long. The noises return and so does the stuck feeling and more pain, much more. I am pacing the floor, sliming and jumping up and down hoping that might help!!! Finally a little burp followed by another big one. Nothing comes up, but I feel so much better.........so I sit down to tell my story and noises are back, and I feel a little stuck, but alas it is all over! OMG, lesson learned.

Awww! *Gives lil'bitty a big ole hug*

Best to take pills one at a time, and give each time to go down. I think the slime (saliva) is what makes us sick. When I get like that, I don't usually throw up the stuck food. I usually just throw up a bunch of slime and then I feel better. I've also noticed that the pain comes in waves like that. Almost like gallbladder attacks.

Sorry you suffered, but I'm glad you're ok kiddo. *give you another hug*

I'm like P'Nut. Don't usually throw up foods. Just send back excess slime. When I feel stuck, I've learned how to push back with my stomach. Just slime comes back. I don't know if that qualifies as a PB or just sliming. Anyway, slime happens. Then I spit it out. If I'm at home, I keep a coffee cup by my chair. If I'm out, I carry a zip loc baggie in my purse. DH has gotten used to it. He says that is just what I do. Kinda' gross, but now I don't feel any pain.

Doesn't help you slow down chewing but you can get a prescription for liquid ibuprofen from your PC or buy children's liquid ibuprofen. This will at least alleviate getting "stuck" on pills. Good luck.

**feeling loved** Thanks Vets for your comfort!!

Deb, I thought I had seen liquid ibuprofen, but hadn't thought of kiddies!!

Stitchy and P'Nut, what came up was slime, no food. I wanted those pills to come out so badly!!!!!!

Just took my first sip of water this AM and it got stuck! Think I better take it easy today and eat mushies.

I can't take pills at all anymore. sometimes I can eat a whole cow...but I def can't take pills. They get stuck, I get sick, and I cry for about an hour. LOL Sorry you went through that, but welcome to the world of liquid meds.

AWWWW that just stinks. I know that the slime is horrible. I know how bad it hurts to have something stick. I agree that you should go to liquid meds for a while at least and definately stay on liquids or mushies for the next couple of days and SLOWLY go to solids again.

Terri, do you use a pill cutter? Now all pills can't be taken but you can find out from your doctor (and sometimes the package will say) what pills can be crushed or split. I bought a pill cutter right after surgery. I am a freak about medicine and prefer not to take anything at all, but when I do, I split it up until tiny pieces so that I do not get stuck.

I'm sorry about your sliming. It is NO fun. I hate sliming and I actually normally don't vomit with it. I actually slimed today. I was eating lentil soup for lunch and forgot to chew the lentils. I slimed after that but no vomit. UGH. It still sucks nearly 10 months out.
