(dont laugh)
Im thinking about joining a Yoga class.

Anyone else done this or IS doing it?

I need a stress reliever and was told that yoga may help.

Why would we laugh?

Yoga is fabulous for stress relief. However, each yoga teacher is different. Some will kick your butt if you don't watch out - not that that's a bad thing, but if you're not expecting it... I took a class that was strictly for stress relief and it was really nice. I love when the instructor chants and plays new age and/or "swami" music. I also have taken power yoga and enjoyed it a lot, however, it can be intense and sweaty. I actually took a class a while back that I didn't really enjoy too much - I actually got kind of dizzy and had to scale myself back - she kept doing back to back Sun Salutes - too much. I am (as is my whole family) freakishly limber (Lord, you should see one of my sons that does Tae Kwon Do - he's not right...) and strong and this woman had me hating life. Of course, the last 10 or so pounds I have gained in the last year have put this giant wad of "cauliflower" right above my belly button - I've never had a big belly before - and there are some poses and stretches that I can't do comfortably anymore. Yet one more reason for the BAND!

I have recently purchased several DVD's to try at home, although part of the motivation is being in the classroom and not wanting anyone to see you slack off, so I don't know how that will work. I'll let you know if I like any of them in particular.

Try it - and try it with different instructors to see what works best for you. I love it, but my best friend HATES it, so you never know.
