Hi everyone,
I know that we have some nurses and people who have great resources. I am a nursing student and I will be graduating in december, but I have to do a research paper on evidence based practice. I need medical and nursing journals on the lap band. I found some last night but I couldn't get a hold of them because some of the journal websites make you pay for a subscription. I have access to a website at work where I might be able to get some of them articles, but if you have any nursing or medical journals that have articles about the lap band could you share them with me? I was going to do a different topic and last night it hit me, DUH, I have a great topic that I am living. They say to do something that interests you, and again, DUH, to me.
Thanks in advance!
Hugs

I copied all sorts of informational things for my coworkers and for banding patients and have them at the hospital. Not sure of what all I have and if they are still there in the unit but I work tonight and if they are there I will get web sites etc for you and let you know where you can get some information. Most of which was from medical journals. I also have a few things that I got from seminar that I attended in Cincinnati ohio from the makers of the band...which if ya didnt know is really owned by Johnson and Johnson(think thats a secret) but it was all over the building and the handouts they gave). So keep your fingers crossed it is still there and that I dont get flexed tonight and I would love to help you out!

Thank you so much!!!! I appreciate it so much. I found a couple of articles at work, but anything you can send to me would be great. Medical and nursing journals are what I need. I have to write the darn thing in APA format, yuck!!! LOL.
Thanks again

You can download a number of lapband papers from the Monash University Centre for Obesity Reasearch and Education www.core.monash.org written by Professor Paul O'Brian (Australian LapBand pioneeer) and others.

Also try the ASERNIPS website (Royal Australian College of Surgeons) www.surgeons.org/asernip-s/

And finally Obesity Online www.obesity-online.com (not sure if you have to pay a subscription to download these articles)

Hope that this helps.
