So, today was exactly one week after my consultation with Dr. Snyder. I have been thinking about it all week long, but finally tonight I weighed myself.

And I have lost 10 pounds! In one week! I am shocked. I really have done well with what I have been eating, and stopping when I was feeling full. I drink way more water than is they tell me too (and NO pop or coffee or anything like that) and it is SO paying off.

Now I know what they are talking about when they say that going into surgery healthier makes you recover faster. I never imagined I would go into surgery any different than the weight and condition I was at consultation.

AND NOW I GET TO UPDATE MY TICKER!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish this was a live camera chat or something so you guys could see my face. It is starting to hurt because I have been ear to ear for the past 20 minutes since I got on that scale.

And let me tell you, my husband and I both tested it. Zero-ed it out and adjusted it, and we just couldn't make it say anything more than 10 pounds less than what I weighed exactly a week ago.

It all makes sense now that my blood pressure wasn't high at all at the cardio apt (no matter what torture they put me through).

OK, I'm rambling. I will stop. I just can't help it.

That's amazing and INSPIRING!!! I'm pre-op, scheduled for consultation 2/20 and am hovering between the last supper urges and trying to start getting used to some different eating guidelines. Great to hear others are having some success even BEFORE surgery. Woo hooo!!:Dancing_laugh: Keep it up - that's awesome!

Thanks all of you.
Last night was really funny for me. It FELT so good (and I love the fact that those of you that have been banded and seen A loss KNOW that feeling)... but the first thing I did when I pulled myself away from the scale was came and wrote that post.

You guys were the first people I wanted to tell. Not even my myspace got updated right away. So seriously, thanks for the kind words and support.

I went to my first support group this morning, and it was alright, but I it didn't hold a candle to this forum.

You are doing really well, even before surgery. I think the band is a wonderful support for not regaining the weight after you lose it, which is my story, but just think you will already have more healthy eating habits established before you take the plunge. Congrats!
