Shelly - I'm not a SD Bandster, but will probably be one (sort of) in about a year.
I live in Washington State. DH and I are retiring in a couple of months to travel the US full time in our motorhome. We will be using a mail service for our address since we won't have a home base. Washington has this silly rule that you can't have a driver's license or register your vehicles without a permanent address and a mail box service won't do. After much research, it looks like SD is very RV friendly.

Hi that sounds fun.We have alot of people who belong to RV campers groups where they meet up at differnent camp sites and play cards etc. Just dont come this time of year huh? The high temp this weekend is -4 and below they said it has been 10 years since we had some of the temps we are going to see. Makes me want to snuggle in a big comforter. LOL That sounds great ...South Dakota will welcome you.... shelly

Thanks for the head's up. We will try to make our residency transfer in the summer. If it has to be in the winter, we will take our eye exam for the driver's license and then get out! It's amazing that the exam is the only thing we have to show up for in person. Everything else can be done through the mail! A very friendly state.

I'm located in Mitchell, SD. Don't forget to stop here and visit the Corn Palace and Prehistoric Indian Village. I am formerly from Michigan and have lived here since 2003. Some things they do here are a bit "old" fashioned, but I like it here and for the most part people are friendly.

I'd don't really ever say I'm "from" South Dakota. But I have lived here since the eighth grade. We live right on the border of Iowa and Nebraska, in our little tri-state area. It's called Dakota Dunes, SD...but we go to Sioux City, IA everyday to work, go to school, go shopping.

I'll be passing through SD this summer. Don't know where we will be stopping, but if it's near Mitchell I'll give you a shout. We were there last year long enough to see the Corn Palace.
