Share your compiliation of motivational, pump it up, get your ass moving kinda workout music here. Which songs really make you work up a sweat. It doesn't matter what era, as long as it gets you moving.

Let's see, you're gonna laugh at this but here is what I have:

Barbie Girl (don't know who sings it, but it's one of those annoying songs that stays in your head FOREVER)
System of a Down: Several songs
No Doubt: Rich Girl
Several Regaton (sp?) songs
Several Wu Tang Klan songs

And the list goes on and on. I can't listen to the same type of music all of the time. I get bored and my mood dictates what I listen to.

Oh, I'm SUCH an old dag, lol. Such a child of the 80's. I like my dorky old faves to run to, but I change it round all the time: lets see, at the moment the playlist is:

Paradise by the Dashbord Light - Meatloaf
Release me - Deborah Conway
For all the wrong reasons - Deborah Conway
Welcome to my nightmare - Deborah Conway
String of Pearls - Deborah Conway
You cant take it with you - Paul Kelly
Sweet Guy - Paul Kelly
I had forgotten - Paul Kelly
I've been careless - Paul Kelly
To her door - Paul Kelly
Bow River - Cold Chisel
Khe Sanh - Cold Chisel
Flame trees - Cold Chisel
Merry Go Round - Cold Chisel
Spare me the details - the offspring
Minority - Greenday
Maria - Greenday
Rumbleseat - John Cougar Mellencamp
Nukkinyah - Paul Kelly
Randwick Bells - Paul Kelly
Holy Grail - Hunters and Collectors
Throw your arms around me - Hunters and Collectors

Assorted Nikelback (who I loathe) that Fraser loaded on there. Gotta get it off.

OK, so probably you've never even heard of Paul Kelly, Deborah Conway, Hunters and Collectors or the mighty Chisels - they're all Aussie stuff.

I have tons of good music on my MP3 but as far as motivational...Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield. That song fits me to a T. It's the theme song for my life. I keep it mixed in my MP3 to remind me why I'm doing all of this.
Lyrics:
I am unwritten, can't read my mind, I'm undefined
I'm just beginning, the pen's in my hand, ending unplanned

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your innovations
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten

Anything Techno works for me especially when I am working out. It is the beat that makes me want to move not the song.
But anyother time I am a country song loving gal...

I have collections. I have a disco collection...with lots of funky beats and some good "right on sista" motivational music. I have a Rock collection with hard beats and fast music, like old metallica, nine inch nails, etc. And I have a Hip Hop collection with great beats, and good dancing music like black eyed peas.

Oh God I feel so old...and not at all cool. Telly I haven't heard of half the folk you listen to and don't know any of the songs...just have to believe that knowing you they would all be totally cool!
I'm not even gonna confess to all mine..but here's a few
YMCA...village people
stop laughing
Locamotion Kylie Minogue
I can still hear you
I wanna have sex on the beach ..cant remember who by?
OK OK so picking yourself up off the floor several times is exercise and laughing is good for stress, so glad I helped out!
I like a good beat that makes me wanna dance and I love stuff that makes me remember good times when I listen to it...so I have my own logic for this stuff.
Soon I'll wipe it all off and the fill it to bursting with Chrissy songs...now, when should that be ummmm?

I listen to music sung and written by my girls. I zone out cus they make my heart sing and dont even know that Im working out. Sometimes I have to shut my mouth cus I want to sing with them. They bought me a mini ipod a pink very cute square thin thing with an arm band. They put on crazy music. Bob Marley, Celtic Woman. Soulful Aretha. Classical. I dont know how I ever got thru my workout before this. My trainer convinced me to use it during cardio and boy oh boy was he right!!!!!! I love my ipod. will look for more music to zone out on/ sure makes me happy

I just got an ipod and I am trying to figure out exactly how to work it etc.. Looks like everyone has great taste in music! I am super excited about listening and working out. Never been a real big music person I could recognize a song but not who sings it.

1980's Hair Metal. You know. Poison, Cinderella, Winger, Warrant, Skid Row .... Great driving bass beats that make me walk faster than I normally would. Doesn't hurt that it's one of my favorite genres.

:wink2: yea, for workout music, you basically need hard-hitting euro-dance music.... nothing else does the job really. Search around on itunes for "euro club hits" or check this link::neener: http://electricfilebox.com/tracks

I am making some major changes...I signed up for a total workout program where I work. I haven't been banded yet, but I am changing old habits and bringing on the new, so when my time comes, I will already be on the road to FABULOUS. I will buy an iPod on the 1st of October. Is there a website where you can download music?

never heard of the its raining men, but wouldnt that be nice? lol

working out yesturday i heard the song st. elmos fire..and i know its sounds crazy but i felt so inspired i actually cried on the freakin treadmill! let me find the lyrics....

Growin' up, you don't see the writing on the wall
Passin' by, movin' straight ahead, you knew it all
But maybe sometime if you feel the pain
You'll find you're all alone, everything has changed
Play the game, you know you can't quit until it's won
Soldier on, only you can do what must be done
You know in some way you're a lot like me
You're just a prisoner and you're tryin' to break free

I can see a new horizon underneath the blazin' sky
I'll be where the eagle's flying higher and higher
Gonna be your man in motion, all I need is a pair of wheels
Take me where my future's lyin', St. Elmo's Fire

Burning up, don't know just how far that I can go (just how far I go)
Soon be home, only just a few miles down the road
I can make it, I know I can
You broke the boy in me, but you won't break the man

I can see a new horizon underneath the blazin' sky
I'll be where the eagle's flying higher and higher
Gonna be your man in motion, all I need is a pair of wheels
Take me where my future's lyin', St. Elmo's Fire

I can climb the highest mountain, cross the wildest sea
I can feel St. Elmo's Fire burnin' in me, burnin' in me

Just once in his life a man has his time
and my time is now, I'm coming alive

I can hear the music playin', I can see the banners fly
Feel like you're back again, and hope ridin' high
Gonna be your man in motion, all I need is a pair of wheels
Take me where my future's lyin', St. Elmo's Fire
