Gina, You can't imagine just how much Kim sincerely cares. She is very special to us all. I am excited that you are able to both go tonight. Make sure you prepare your Dear Husband cause if he is like mine and not prepared, he may be thinking the worst and it harder to turn them around. Just remind him 1) that many here are very exsperenced and confident in the lapband and DR. Voellinger, 2) this is for your health and well being, and that it's a 3) Minimally Invasive Surgery as in new technology. It's really is so neat. Have a great time and ask lot's of questions.

I totally agree with Kathy, your picture is so cute and you do look like her.

That is so nice of you :) I had a hard time getting my wife to move 2 hours away from her hometown to be in Dallas, I don't think NC would be in the cards for me :( Make it an open invitation and we'll see what happens! :)

I met Gina tonight...well for a quick second. I am hoping to spend more time w/ her and Hope this weekend. They are both great. See I bet you two didn't even know that ya'll were there and probably didn't even meet. It's a small world and the band community is growing so much!!!! I LOVE IT!!!! (She is just as pretty in person as she is in that picture.)

Ok ya'll need to stop. I am just doing my job. A job I never thought I would have nor did I know I would love it so much. It keeps me very busy and sometime is very demanding but I keep my focus on the patients and how it changes our lives for the better and that keeps me going even when I am down. Just being able to help or pull a string or two is what I do for friends and family!!! Ya'll are my family.

Hi everyone - thanks so much for posting - I love this board!! I just got home from the seminar and really liked Dr. Voellinger a lot. There was a lot of information but mostly stuff I knew from the LApBand site plus Dr.-specific stuff. I got my appointment scheduled - first available was April 10th. I guess I can be working on getting other stuff done before then - Kim, I'll be asking some questions I'm sure! It was fun to see you and recognize you from your picture! Can't wait to get to talk with you this weekend.

The seminar definitely solidified my decision for me that this is the road I want to go down... now the hoops and the waiting can commence! I know it will happen in God's timing though and He sure knows better for me than I do!! I am excited to be on the road and especially to already have some new friends!

Kathy, I would love to be in a little house on a prairie :-) Never told I have a Melissa Gilbert look before but she is beautiful! Kim, thanks again to you! OK, it is seriously chilly here 2nite so I am off to get under the ol' down comforter... and I hesitate to admit this but hubby has rented a little flick called Jackass 2. I keep hearing him laughing so loud from the other end of the house! That show and those movies are so dumb but I have to admit they are funny... don't tell anyone! :-) G'Night!

I have been to several bariatic seminars in the Charlotte area and I must say that SE is the greatest. Kim and all of you on this forum thanks you for sharing all of your experinces and knowledge. I take my hats off to you all:yo:

Hey Gina,
I'm in process, just like you! I had my seminar in November and the first available appointment with Dr. V for me was Feb. 6th, so I go next week. Yahoo!:bounce: Anyways, since I had so much time, I made an appointment with my primary doc and told him about my plans. (luckily, he is extremely supportive!) We did all of my bloodwork, Chest x-ray, and EKG in his office the same day. After that, I made an appointment with SEC's Psychologist, Nutritionist, and Fitness peeps. I met with them all the same day right before Christmas. I'm glad that I went ahead and did that because I now have that cost out of the way and I had to do 3 weeks of follow-up with them (thru email) where we set fitness and nutrition goals and I emailed in my results to them. They use this to write your recommendation letters. Now, I will hopefully only have the UGI test that SEC schedules after my meeting with him and then the insurance road. :twitch: I hope that goes well.

Thanks Shelley - look forward to meeting you too! I'm definitely going to set up an appointment with my PCP and get as much done as possible - maybe I will have most of my ducks in a row before the consult. I'd love to have the surgery before the hottest part of the summer - then again that might be the perfect time to be hangin out in the A/C ! We'll see how it goes. I also will need to do the appeals thing with BCBSNC so that will probably take a while. It would be nice to have at least some of the cost covered.

Gina and Hope I am so glad both of you ladies were there last night and both liked what you saw. I think we have a great program. We really want our patients to be successful. Dr V really cares a lot and I think it shows. Every doc does care maybe it's Dr V's southern crazy self. haha...he is great though. I look forward to working w/ all 3 of you (Gina, Hope and Shelley) I will do what I can do to help you all...as you will be working w/ me. Sorry but it's true you are stuck w/ me. :)

O-h-h-h Kim, what do you mean Dr. V's Southern crazy? Don't you know he is from the same area I am in L.A.? That is right, he grew-up just 40 minites away from my home of Eufaula in the L.A. area. Don't you now were L.A. is located?

I think it's a thing with weight loss surgeons. They take it as a personal insult if you don't stick to the plan. They did all that hard work to perform surgery on you, they want you to be successful. I like that about the weight loss surgeons I've met!
