Wow, Kathy! Your pictures are really inspiring! You've come a long way!
I'm curious, are you still using Sparkpeople to track you exercise and intake? I really can't say enough positive about that website!

Here's me with an Elvis dude at Myrtle Beach. OMGosh I ate so much food that night. Doesn't it show?! Blech.

I am, but I have been slack lately. I'm putting to use all the good food choices I learned to make, so I can eyeball my intake pretty well. I think I'm in week 6 of Phase 2. I should back up and do stage 2 again, I guess? More importantly, I should increase my exercise :dizzy:
I have a few more to post, some never before seen on LBT, I think! This will be a long thread by the time I'm done, LOL! Stay tuned!
Last fat pic at 240+. Nope, this was ata bout 220, my son was almost 2 and I had dropped about 20 after joining Curves. This was taken a few months before I found out about the Lap Band.

Here's me and my daughter. I think this is barely below 190? Don't hold me to it...

Wow, you look like a totally different person. It is amazing how much happier everyone looks in each progressive picture as the weight goes down.

I found this one in my 'puter. This was taken back in...the summer of '98. Me, my sister, and our friend (like a sister) Nicole went to Vegas to see Wynonna at Caeser's Palace. See her autograph? It says "You go girls! Wynonna"
Anyhow, I had quit smoking and gained a bunch of weight, and I was letting my bangs grow out-remind me not to do that again-and I'm guessing I weighed around 200, since I was 208 when I got pregnant that Dec.
That's me on the left (wow, I have aged!) then my sister, Christie, and our friend Nicole. Great trip!
Crud! It's too big! Any offers for help from someone? I'll e-mail it to you! Puleeeze?!

So I went to Curves today and has a great weigh-in/measure day. My weight loss journey started In December 2003 at my high weight of 240+ (so I picked a number...242) and my weight today was 176.0. That's a 66 pounds loss in 34 months. Slooooow! That's 47 pounds in the 17 months I have been banded, so my band has surely helped! Here's my inches lost since my very first Curves measurment.
Bust -5.5
Waist -7
Abs -6.75
Hips -7.25
Thighs -3.5 each
Arms -2.5 each
For a total of 38.5 inches lost. That's 3 Feet 2 1/2 Inches GONE!
My Body Fat% went from 45.7% to 37.7%, down 8%. I have 30 pounds of fat yet to lose. That puts me at goal. 145 pounds with 20% Body Fat (normal weight and normal BF% for a woman my age) WOW!
I sure hope slow and steady really does win the race, because I ain't done yet! Thanks for the inspiration everyone!

Kathy, you're so cute! You look like someone I would be friends with in town - you just look like a fun girl! It's that huge, happy smile of yours. I bet you have a great laugh, too.
You have made wonderful progress. How tall are you? You strike me as tall. I'm between 5'4" and 5'5" depending on the day, but I am not as proportionate as you are - I'm pear shaped, but I'm much better since having my kids. I used to be like a 10 on the top and waist and a 14 around the hips at one time. Try buying business suits for that body! Thank God I don't have to invest in that kind of stuff anymore.
I can't believe it was you in the first pictures. I can't believe most people's before pics. We let ourselves become completely different people. I never gain as much in my face, so I won't have that big of a difference there, but my body will change a lot. (I hope) Yours certainly has. Great job, Kathy.
I remember in high school when I was "SO fat". Did you have that too? Compared to the other dancers I hung around with I was, but in "real life" I would kill to have my muscular, toned figure of MAX 135, usually 128. We women are so harsh on ourselves and each other. I'm glad I don't have daughters that will have to suffer that kind of self-abuse. My boys will have to worry about being too skinny - thanks to their dad.

Curves has done its thang to YOU!
You are lookin H O T !!!
Funny what exercise CAN do and reducing food intake alone - CAN NOT do...

Thanks Alicia and Neal! I got this thread going pretty early on but couldn't get that one pic sized to post. I can do it now, so I got it posted.
It's from 182 pounds, but with quitting smoking I may be right back there before you know it. I'm 179 for the past two days. I've been shoveling small bowls of homemade veggie soup to compensate. Beats Hershey's Candy Cane Kisses, I guess? LOL

Doh! I'm back at 182. Oh well. Thanks for the nice compliments, Jess, Ali, and Joyce. :)
Jess, I joined Curves for a year before I even looked into banding. I lost about 20 pounds from my high weight within a few months and got stuck there eating pounds of food. :( I quit Curves when I found a gym that had childcare for my youngest...yada yada. Then I rejoined Curves about 6 months ago. Sadly, I haven't been in several months, but it's time to get back. Kids go back to school next week and it's time to find a new routine, so I'll be including a bit of exercise in there. I have GOT to lose what I have gained.

Kathy, Just wanted to let you know that I JOINED CURVES TONIGHT! :)
It felt really good going around that circuit - I haven't moved like that in a while.
;) Thanks for the tip!!!!!! I will keep you abreast of my progress!
Hopefully I can be the incredible shrinking woman like you!
 Hugs,
Jess

Great, Jess! I like Curves, too. I need more cardio than the circuit, so it's important to walk the Dreadmill or something on my days off from Curves, but I should be doing that anyway, right? Good for you! Get Strong! :thumb:

Kathy, you look great!! Amazing!!! Not only have your words been so inspiring, but now I can see you, and your progress is inspiring! Thanks girl!
Kathy--I just love you! "Dreadmill" is just hilarious. You are the greatest cheerleader and supporter! I kind of want to join Curves now that I've read about it so many times on this site.
