I was filled to 2.5 cc's in a 4cc band two weeks ago with my first fill. I lost dramatically the first few days because of liquids and not I am not moving at all!!! I think I am going to be one of the ones who is going to need like 3.99 cc's in a 4 cc band to get any consistant restriction. I have first bite sydrome really bad but after that I can eat way too much. It almost feels like I was pre-fill. I am hoping another fill will do the trick. I have read that sometimes your fill can "settle" and seem to disappear. I am wondering if this is what happened. I will be interested to see what amount is recovered from my last fill. I am really frustrated. I know it will work but in the back of my mind I keep hearing "you are going to be the only one to gain weight..." This may also link to the "depression" thread I have posted...LOL

Susan - It's not uncommon for it to take more than one fill get good restriction. Don't be discouraged--It will happen! I felt nothing after my first and second fills. The third was the one that finally got me there.
I know you are exercising and I am willing to bet you are gaining muscle. Focus more on the new clothes and your measurements than on what the scale says right now. Maybe you should consider putting the scale away for a while.
I know it's hard but you can do this! If you are hungry, eat more veggies to fill yourself up!
When is your next fill appointment scheduled?

I would love to go with you but that is the last homeschool ski program day up at Bogus. After that Wednesday's are usually good for me. Hang in there--It's only 2 more weeks.

It took me about 4 fills for good restriction. You will get there!

I wish it was time NOW! I am terrified of gaining any at all. I am just going to hang in there and hope there are no gains this next couple of weeks...lets all pray together...LOL

I've refused to focus on this because I am the same, I STILL dont have good restriction 13 months on, at 3 ml in a 4ml band. I've just kept exercising and eating well (but I eat more than I think I "should") and I've still lost weight, so dont give up on it, do the right things and it will keep moving.
Even without good restriction, the band helps I think a lot more than many of us realise. We still feel like we're overeating when in reality we are eating far less.
I've had lots of long plateaus but it always starts moving again.

Great point Jacqui- I have no fluid in my band at present and would like some back in to give a bit of a resitriction but you post has reminded me that even my unfilled band means I am eating far smaller portions than I used to eat, i do feel hungry sometimes, but even this is not bad as it is making me think more about the headstuff. I'm at a plateau at the moment and it is really easy to get frustrated that the past couple of weeks have been slow-I'm tring to focus on the 45pounds lost since november and remind myself it can't keep up at that rate, regardless of the fluid in the band

It's funny that you mention this. I have been reading a bunch of your posts and what you say about not being obsessed with calories and low carb make a ton of sense to me. I am watching calories right now because I am not getting enough but when I get a good idea of what I need in a day I may follow your lead.
