I'm not ready for a TT, but I hope to have one this summer. Finding meaningful information on the web is really hard. So is knowing anything about the doctors.

So, here's the question. I am going to be traveling in a motorhome. A real comfy bed and lots of time to waste. I can go anywhere and can stay a few weeks for recovery. What do you know about particular doctors? What cities? And also important, what are the total costs?

Twin, since we were banded on the same day, we should get a TT on the same day! :) But I don't think I will be ready this summer. So glad you will be. I am interested to see what answers you get!

I'm anticipating 5-6K and I found a local doc who has given TT's to bandsters, so he knows all about the port. I wish I could be ready this summer. I have hit a huge roadblock the'se past few months with quitting smoking and holidays. I'm still trying to get back on track. I suppose it's possble to be ready by summer...hmmmm. Come to NC, Kathy! It's a loooooong drive, I know. :(

Well, Kathy, believe it not, NC is actually on my trip agenda. Really! DH's brother is developing land out there. Near Ashville, I think. Close to Tennessee, anyway. We want to visit. And, I think he is generally there in the summer.

We are about the same weight. We could do it together! Does the doc you found have a website?

Neal, same thing to you. Another one of DH's brother has an RV pad in Texas. Port Aransas. We have invitations to visit it (when he's not there), of course. So, where are you, and what do you know about TT docs?

OMGosh, I'll drive to Ashville, ask P'nut!

I'll dig up the website for the doc I have my eye on. I haven't even consulted with him yet...so I can hardly recommend him other than the fact that I know he's done TTs on at least 1 bandster.

here it is...

www.stillwaterplacticsurgery.com and it's Dr. Peter Capizzi

I had mine done 10/24. My surgeon charged $4200. The hospital charged $2200 which included the overnight stay. It was the best $6400 I ever spent

I looked into it, and had a consult with a PS recommended by my band doc...

About 7600-8000 total.

I am in the Dallas area. To be honest, I have not even started the process. WIth my new job, I don't want to take the necessary time off to recover until I have been here a year. I need to start looking for potential Dr.s pretty soon though so I can get the ball rolling when I want to go.

I was going to get me a TT this March, but I have decided to wait a year.

Why wait a year?

1. I want my weight to be stable for several months before going under the knife.

2. I am thinking about joining a Gym. I hate exercise, so if I am able to stick to it, I either won't need the TT or can get away with a smaller one.
