Just wondering what others may have done or used to help with the rash under the tummy area? My tummy is starting to sag more and I have always used baby powder to keep moisture at bay but just recently I am getting redness/rash. I am using AD ointment (diaper rash cream) and it helps but what can I do to keep the rash from appearing. I still have another 75 to go until ps is even an option. I'm taking pictures and going to see my regular dr just so I have some medical documentation so insurance might help with the removal later on but I just wonder what others are doing.

jacqie, I have a c-sec scar under my tummy of you know what I mean. After showering, I pat the area dry and dust with Gold Bond Medicated powder. it always does the trick. Usually the next day all is gone. My doc said that it is more than likely a yeast infection of the skin (???) and she told me to try lotrimin (which is jock itch cream) it has worked for me too, but I prefer the GB powder.
I was also told that insurance may pay for a TT to get rid of that skin. in my case, I have a ways to go, but would expect it won't get any better as that skin gets looser!
good luck
That is exactly what it is, a yeast infection. you need to get the gold bond or at your dr ask for "Nystatin" powder. It is wonderful and will take care of the problem ASAP... I have had three c-sections and too have this problem, that only seems to get worse the more I lose.
Good luck

thanks Jmo :yuck: , I am fearing this!! GB works great!! When I was nursing my oldest, she had thrush, or a yeast infection in her mouth which is common in newborns. They had me put Lotrimin on my nips to keep from getting a YF on them!!! I know, TMI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:embarassed:

I had this problem too and even though it improved with nystatin powder it did not go ( it was the hottest part of summer- i don't think this helped)
resorted to a very old fashioned remedy- bathed the area with a very weak solution of condys chrsytals (potassium permangamate)- it worked a treat- I've not had a recurrence but I now use a medicated powder as a preventative.
Just a caution about the condys chrsytals- only make the solution very pale pink- it does not take much- if its too strong it can scald

After my last c-sec, it was really bad and the doc had me wash the area with perxoide and lay gauze under my belly. I worked well when the weather was hot and sweaty. Good luck!!

I am torn, I almost wish I would get rashes. It would be a lot easier to get insurance to pay for a TT. I have not had any problems with rashes so far. Is that crazy to think that way?

Gold Bond works great on the tummy yeast infection.
My new loose skin is my back. I should have known when my bra size dropped ten inches that that fat had to go somewhere. I have these love handle things on my back of loose skin. I saw a Discover Health show over the weekend where a guy with fallen back fat/loose skin had plastic surgery to remove it. The cut a 5-inch strip around his body at the waist and pulled the skin together then sewed a new waist. He looked great.

HI Joyce
I have seen film of the same procedure being done on a woman, they called it a total body lift. The results were fantastic but, gee it looks painful!! I've had a lot of orthopedic surgery and I'm not a wimp when it comes to pain, but it must hurt like the blazes to move afterwards for a while- but the results really do look great

Before I had my TT, I had constant rashes...they were very painful too.
I tried so many different things and found something perfect.
Now....it hurts for a second but after that its great.
Deoderant, especially rexona sports. It makes the rash go away pretty quick and also stops alot of the sweating.
