Ok everyone, I need some advice. I am pre-band and my doc wants me to lose 10 lbs but didn't give me any food restrictions or anything.
What is the best pre-band diet that I can go on that will give me good results? Who's pre-band diet was successful and gave them that extra few lbs shed before surgery?
I am HELLA motivated after losing 3 lbs in 5 days.....give it to me wooohooo! :Banane24:

Christy, I'm doing protein and losing.
Breakfast:
Protein drink
banana or fruit in season
Lunch:
Protein drink or Tuna salad or Salmon salad
Afternooon snake:
protein bar
Dinner:
regular meal on 9-inch plate
Drink water all through the day. I tend to drink Crystal Light or iced tea.
I'll post my favorite protein supplies in the food section. But GNC has a lot of this.

I had some bad "Last meal syndrome" and then did the soup diet. Who was in charge of the soup train?

Mrs- I did 5 days of Atkins, and then almost 10 days of carnation instant breakfast and cucumbers. It was basically starvation but I lost 19lbs and after the first few days of carnation I wasn't hungry.

Here is the diet I was on for two and a half weeks:
Optifast or Slimfast (3 times each day)
Protein powder (75 grams per day)
Fruits and Vegetables (Amount desired each day)
Water (60 oz per day)
30 Minutes of aerobic activity per day
1 Mutlivitamin per day
I was told to follow this diet 75% of the time. If I needed to add something more, I should add carbs like pasta or rice. I ate salads (sometimes with a bit of tuna or chicken) and had some brown rice a couple of times.
Guidelines for the protein powder:
Carbohydrates should be less than double the amount of protein (i.e. 20 grams)
Protein should be at least half of the carbohydrates (i.e. 10 grams)
Fats should be not more than half of the protein (i.e. 5 grams)
(Stay away from soy proteins. Vegetable proteins are not easily digested and can cause gas and bloating.)
I lost 16 pounds while on this diet.
