Friday afternoon I went to get my nails done and the nail tech runs up to me and says in her cute little accent "Meleeesa, you lose weight! You look pretty." I was completely caught off guard. I mean, I am down a pant size and those are getting kinda comfortable and soon will be loose, but no one has actually told me that it shows! I was so thrilled and flustered.

This is so cool!

Thanks, guys. I love my band!

BTW, that's just my first goal on my ticker, Anna. However, I'm thrilled!

Girl! I know you were beaming for the rest of the day! I love it when somebody says my hair looks good...so, I can imagine how it will feel when people start to notice the weight is coming off!

Fantastic job....keep it up! :clap2:

Congrats, Melissa. Nothing beats the comments from clerks and service people who see you from time to time. They can gauge our success better than we can at times.

That is great! NSV's really make you feel like you can go on and really work that band even if the actual weight stays constant!

Ah, Diva my pretty! Love to see you around. I've missed you so much!

Joyce, it is great when those that only see you every couple of weeks or so notice. It's like when my kids grow, I don't notice it, but relatives that only see them every few weeks freak out over how tall they get. Familiarity puts blinders on us, I guess. It's how we all got this big to begin with - the little creep, creep, creep up the scale that we don't notice until some horrifying judgement day that usually involves a camera that we swear is malfunctioning.

*Somewhat related* Have I told you that my husband now insists that when I get new outfits that we take pictures of me in them so that I can really SEE what I look like? Rather than him trying to say that a certain outfit it "unflattering" while trying not to say any word that might in any way relate to "fat", "big" or any other "cursed words that the husband shall never utter". It works like a charm. You can really see if something looks good or not. Mirrors LIE! I bought a couple of outfits for Christmas parties and I thought they both looked fabulous. One actually was truly fantastic while the other was much more FAT than FAB. I was crushed. I was, however, able to replace that one with a wildly expensive outfit (with all of the wildly expensive trimmings) that my husband loved so much he didn't even care. It even looks great on camera. Oh the fabulosity! Try it. You'd be surprised what's trailing behind you that a mirror will never show you.
