I know its been talked about before, but wanted to discuss again. BMI is a terrible measurement. As I continue my journey to get back to my goal weight, I am trying to monitor everything. So today, I weight 192. Being 5'9", that puts my BMI smack dab in the middle of "Overweight". But my scales have a body fat measuring feature. My bofy fat % this morning was 22%, which puts me in the normal range for males my age.

To get back to a normal BMI, I would need to loose another 22 pounds and be at 170. Never going to happen, not would I want it too. I already wear 34 inch waist and a med/large shirt and I can imaging what 20 more pounds would do.

So don't get discouraged if your BMI is too high, Its not the most important measurement in my opinion.

I totally agree with you Neal. Body fat % is a more accurate gauge. BMI does not take into consideration body "type" and that makes a lot of difference.

This is an excellent point for all to consider. There are numerous ways to classify the ideal weight and no one should get too hung up on any one method.
