This is just too weird. Every night, well not now I am sick as dog, after my dinner I get the same stuck food feeling I got when I had my band. This is just too weird. LOL!!

It has been such a struggle since I lost my band. I have gained 45 lbs in a year since I lost it. I mean it is really scary now. I am within 25 lbs of my starting weight before I got the band.

I have to start thinking about either going on a crash diet or more drastically changing my insurance to an HMO so I can either get another band or the bypass.

I ain't doing anything till after the holidays.

But I think it is just fascinating that I have phantom PB. I wonder if this is like Phantom pain from a lost limb? J/K here. I know it isn't any where near the same.

Penni, out of curiosity, have you had an upper G.I. or endoscopy more recently? Does a removed band leave scar tissue that might emulate the band for a while?

I thought the same thing as I was reading your post. Might be time for an endo - just to check out your 'guts'. :D
What Sabre said about the scar tissue makes sense.

Are you in contact with any of the other unbanded's to compare notes? Michelle, Donali, Franchesca, Lisa? It would be interesting to hear if any others had the same "Phantom PB".

Penni....that is so weird and I'd definitely have it checked out, just to be on the safe side.

I have noticed it only really happens when I don't chew my food into small bites. If I wolf it down then I get the stuck feeling. I don't actually PB. I just get the stuck feeling. I think it is reflux.

I have spoken to my Band doctor about it and at present he doesn't think it is anything to be concerned about. If I was doing it all the time with every meal then he would be concerned. It passes really quickly but is just weird ya know.

By the way, you guys know me well enough that I won't let this go if I think it is anything to worry about. After all I knew I had eroded when my band doc didn't think I had. I know my body. LOL!!!!
