With all of the morning sickness problems I've had, I wanted to make a list (yes, yet another one - LOL) of some morning sickness quenchers that others may find helpful.

Not all of these will work for everyone, but at least there are some options out there for those of us who have it rough with puking issues. I should add that I have not tried all of these, therefore I cannot attest to how well all of them will work.

Most of these are natural/organic based (meaning they're not of a prescription type based origin), but there are a few that are typically prescribed by doctors, for women who are pregnant.

Hopefully someone in the future will find this list as useful as I have, only they won't have to go searching all over the web for these like I have. :) And again for my little disclaimer - I am not a doctor, nurse, or medical professional of any kind. These are simply my results of much research and searching the internet for relief of the ever dreaded morning sickness yuckies!

Morning Sickness Quenchers

1. Seabands - Elastic/cloth type bands that go around your wrists and have a plastic nub that presses into the pressure points on your wrists. Available at most major retailers in the US like Wal*Mart in the Pharmacy section.

2. Preggie Pops - Flavored sucker/lolly pops that contain anti-nausea agents and help relieve dry mouth too. These come in many flavor varieties, and are available in a single type candy form as well. Those are called Preggie Pop Drops. They are completely drug free, and are available online at many maternity type web sites, as well as on Ebay, and also in Motherhood stores too. These were developed specifically for pregnant women. (These are available in sugar free as well.)

3. Morning Wellness Tea - This is manufactured by a company called Earth Mama Angel Baby and is not only available on their web site, but also on many maternity style web sites, and on Ebay too. It may be found in maternity type retail stores as well. This is made with 100% organic herbs blended specifically for pregnant women experiencing morning sickness. Organic Ginger is included in the special blend.

4. Morning Sickness Magic - This is manufactured by a company called Baby Bliss and comes in a Peach Ginger flavor. It is in liquid form and is formulated specifically for pregnant women who are experiencing nausea. It contains Ginger, Red Raspberry Leaf, Vitamin B6, and Folic Acid. This also comes in a powder form that can be mixed in with water. It is available online on maternity style web sites, as well as on Ebay.

5. B-natal TheraPops & Lozenges - These are manufactured by the company NutraCeutics and were developed specifically for pregnant women experiencing morning sickness. The TheraPops are Cherry flavored lollipop/suckers and contain Vitamin B6 as well as sugar. The Lozenges are Green Apple flavored and contain Vitamin B6 and sugar as well. These are both available on online maternity style web sites, as well as on Ebay.

6. MorningWell - This is a morning sickness relief CD audio program. It uses a unique blend of music, specific frequencies, and pulses that interrupt the signals between the brain and stomach that cause nausea. It contains no hypnotic messages, nor does it contain any subliminal type messages either. This is available on maternity type web sites.

7. Belli Soothers - These are hard style "candies" that come in peppermint or lemon flavors and are designed to help relieve morning sickness. These are available on maternity type web sites.

8. Crystallized Ginger - These are chunks of ginger that have been crystallized and are chewable. They contain cane sugar and ginger. They can be found in some grocery stores, as well as at maternity type web sites and possibly Ebay. Ginger is well known for its stomach comforting qualities.

9. Ginger Chews - These are chewable chunks of ginger that come in Orignial flavor and Spicy Apple. The Original contains cane sugar, maltose (a natural sugar derived from corn), ginger, potato starch, palm oil (a trivial amount). The Spicy Apple contains cane sugar, maltose (a natural sugar derived from corn), ginger, natural apple flavor, cinnamon oil, potato starch, palm oil (a trivial amount). They are available on maternity style web sites, as well as possibly on Ebay.

10. Gin Gins - These are a ginger flavored hard candy that are double the strength. They contain cane sugar, glucose syrup, and ginger. They are available at maternity type web sites, as well as possibly on Ebay.

11. Gingera - This is more of an antacid to help relieve heartburn, indigestion, as well as nausea. It comes in a regular bottle, as well as travel packs. It is in a pleasant gingerale flavor and is mixed with water. It contains Sodium Bicarbonate, Tartaric Acid, Pure Natural Ginger, Sugar, and Corn Syrup. It can be found on maternity type web sites.

12. Phenergen - A prescription specifically for anti nausea. It has a tendency to make you tired, and can actually irritate your stomach even more. These worked well for me in early pregnancy.

13. Zofran - A prescription specifically for anti nausea. This comes in 2 forms, the first being a solid type pill, the second being a meltable tablet. The melt tabs are my favorite, as they don't sit in your stomach and work much faster. The only side effect I've experienced with this is constipation if used too frequently.

14. Emetrol - An over the counter antiemetic medicine taken to relieve nausea and vomiting. It's a mixture of glucose, fructose, and phosphoric acid and comes in syrup form. This can be found in most major retail stores such as Wal*Mart here in the US, in the pharmacy section.

I will add to this list as I discover more products. Here is a short list of some of the web sites that you can currently find the above listed products at.

Seabands worked BRILLIANTLY for me.

Also, I never had vomiting with morning sickness as I have a cast iron stomach but I thought I would go insane with the nausea with Eliza. It was worst with my only female baby, hmmm. But with all 3 pregnancies ice cold soda water, and plenty of crushed ice, it was a godsend. It really calmed my tummy.

I had no problems with baby #1, but I thought I would die with the morning sickness with #2. Altoids Ginger worked and good ole warm ginger ale. I also used the crysallized ginger and got some relief. I was lucky it passed after 3 months, but my best friend was horribly sick through the whole pregancy and nothing helped! I couldn't imagine!

Well it seems that so far the only iron clad thing for me has been the Zofran. And even then I've thrown it up 3 times, hence wasting it and making me mad. LOL

The Sea Bands worked well for me in the very early stages of my pregnancy, and now not so much. The crystalized ginger was just too much for me taste wise, so now it just sits there. It didn't help my stomach at all either. The Phenergen helped early on in my pregnancy too, but then once I got farther on it just made me sicker.

I still have a few tricks up my sleeve to try though, so I'm hoping that something non prescriptive will work better for me. The Zofran is so binding that I can only use it sparingly. Otherwise I end up not being able to "go" for days on end. Oh the joy!

With my son pop helped settle my stomach. Obviously that isn't truly an option this time around. I did try a few sips a few times just to see, and it really did nothing for me than gas me up even worse. I've also tried the eating crackers before getting out of bed thing, which is pretty useless to me as well. But one thing that surprisingly works part of the time for me is simply sucking on one of my sons little suckers. I didn't know until today, but I guess sugar is proven to help with morning sickness. Who would've thunk it?!?!

Thanks for making this list - I have printed it out for my cousin who is in her eigth week and struggling. And I'm going to remember this list for my next time, which hopefully will be any day now!

With my son I was sick all the way through, I found that icy cold milk helped somewhat - I used to wake up hungry at 2am and have a large glass to get back to sleep, and then have another first thing in the morning. I was much better on the days when I had been up in the night and had some milk!
