Hey Everybody!

I just wanted to say hi to everyone and thank everyone for all of the stuff that they put out here for the world to see. While it helps to gather all the information you can, it is also a big emotional help to hear about people that aren't banded yet (like me :sad: ) and read that they have the same feelings, issues and general gripes that I have. Even supportive families and friends can't understand quite like another person dreaming about getting back to "1"derland.

I've been lurking around as a guest since I saw the link on another board and I like what I see so far! It will be nice to have a positive environment to soak in while I fight to get the band.

Unfortunately you're right... no band yet. I am still jumping through hoops and BCBS of AL is still living in the stone ages and not recognizing this surgery as a viable option. BUT... an employee of a local obesity doctor's office told me recently that they were told that BCBS of AL is going to start covering it soon! :pray2: I'm hoping they're right. If not, I decided I'm just going to suck it up and live with my mom for a while longer and see if I can take out a loan to self pay. Heck, maybe if I get the band and get skinny I'll find a man that will just buy me a house and I won't have to worry about it! :decision: LOL

Gotta ask.. how do you guys get the pictures on there? I tried up upload a pic and it won't go. I guess maybe it is too big? I am a firm believer in faces to go with names...

Welcome to b2g, Hope. Many here are fighting for their bands too, so you're among friends who are either in your shoes or have finally beaten the system and gotten their band. I'm sure you'll get lots of advice and support from those who are struggling without the band and from those who are blessed to be banded.

what is the "other" board you guys often speak of?

The "other" board that is metioned on occassion is lapbandtalk. LBT is the first board I participated in and found many lifelong friends there. However, after months of some seriously bizarre incidents I was banned from LBT. So my husband and I, with the help of our awesome friends, FunnyDuddies and Sara, started b2g. Many people from LBT now come here, some still participate on LBT. Some wont go back because of all that happened there. I know there are a lot of very experienced bandsters on LBT and we don't encourage anyone to be here exclusively. It is our belief that the more support we get, the better off we are. So, thats the answer to the question - What is that "other" board? :)
