I went to Dr. Cahn again this morning and he thinks he finally got my 1st fill in! I had gone in 4 weeks ago and he couldn't find the right spot to fill. He could feel the port under my skin, but couldn't get the needle to it. We decided to wait a couple more weeks and try again before resorting to using x-ray. So I went back today, and after about 20 minutes of prodding, poking and changing positions, he thinks he got it! He put in 3cc's in my 11 cc band. He said to wait till the end of the week and if I'm not feeling any restriction to come back next week and we'll try again. It didn't really hurt at all, except for him prodding my belly. But he apologized for making me look like a pin cushion! Oh well, if it worked then it's worth it. He did tell me that he'd been talking to another Dr. friend of his about me and the fact that he was having trouble finding my port. His Dr. friends swears that he uses....are you ready??....a stud finder! Like you use to find a stud in your wall! The port is made of titanium and the stud finder picks it up. Made me laugh!
Anyway, I made it through Thanksgiving with next to no restriction and still lost another 3 lbs. so I'm thrilled. My goal is 75 lbs. gone by Christmas. I better get moving!
