View Full Version : Goal
So here I am 2 years 3 months 2 weeks and 2 days post surgery and I can officially state that I am at GOAL. I have been hovering between 168 and 173 for a few months now and I hesitated to formally recognize this day because I never thoought i would get to this weight and wasn't comfortable saying that word. GOAL was always something I never achieved at Weight watchers so you know where this is going. I'm 5'7" and the last time I hovered around this weight I was 20 years old. I'm now 36 and have two kids so not in my wildest dreams did I think that when I started this ourney weighing 264lbs that I would lose so much weight.
My band has been so good to me and I feel so blessed that my journey has been so smooth so far (crossing fingers and toes for the rest of my life). I feel so blessed that I found B2G and all of you so randomly on the internet. I have "met" such wonderful and caring people from all walks of life yet with one core need and that is to be loved and appreciated for who you are not how much you weigh.
Now I feel my journey is changing, taking me in a different direction...MAINTENANCE. UGH i can't stand that word more than i can't stand the word GOAL...but now I am equiped with the tool, the knowledge and support of all of you to maintain my success. I hope that I can continue to share with those of you who need it, my own experiences, some guidance and cheerleading. With the Band it is possible to lose the weight and I hope to be here to see so many more of you reach GOAL and to tell you definitively that beyond GOAL there is peace with this deamon we call obesity.
Thank you all for being here for me, for helping me for answering my questions, laughing with me, all the dancing elephants and smiley faces..know that at the other end I was always smiling and chuckling with you all...and now I formally accept my Oscar..i mean THANKS A BUNCH LOSERS!lmao!!!!!!!

This was so inspiring to read!!! My goal weight, starting weight, and height are pretty close to yours! I can't wait to be at the same point in my journey.
Congrats!!! I think a shopping spree is in order!!! (That's what I told my husband I was going to do when I reached goal)

Congrats Rini! and don't "fear" maintenance. It's just a word lol. Heck I'm the queen of maintaining - unfortunately, since I still have quite a bit to lose. You said it yourself, you've been maintaining for a few months now. CELEBRATE!!!

That's good because we NEED you around here!!! Too often people fade away once they reach goal. It's wonderful to have your experience and advice, whether newly banded or three years out. I know I like hearing what you have learned :)
Thanks Mo! No way i'm leaving. This place has given me too much and I need to give back!

lol go figure Rini - now you are losing more weight (or inches?) when you don't need to. The body is a funny thing. I know Stitchy kept losing after calling goal also.
whatever will be will be...not sweating it just dont want to end up looking too gaunt.

Huh?? What is this talk I hear about a size 8 somewhere?? Uhmm, Rini?? "Whatchu talkin 'bout, Willis?" Gurrrlll, that is some hella crazy goodness!!
I don' tknow the scale is not really movign much althought idid see 168 the other day but i don't trust that ho..she lies to me all the time! my size 10s are a bit loose but i wouldn't say im an 8 not by a stretch but if my 10s are loose there is a possibility i suppose. I used to be 150 pounds when i was 16 i think that is the last time i saw an 8.well hold on once when i went to ww and got down to 155 i wore 8 but that was short lived....8 would certifiably be skinny for me. 10 is normal i think. i don't think i can wrap my mind around that.i like to think of my self as normal...skinny sounds scary. My boobs will totally disappear...and i already have issues.please.
PS: I love that show! i alwasy say that too! well not alwasy but when its appropriate...like now.lol

see, I thought the "ho" over my house was the biggest liar ever...i never know when to trust her trifling behind! LOL
oh she is the biggest baddest ho ever! well like a true ho once in a while she will tell it like it is but only to hurt you where she knows it hurts! lol

lol on the "ho" scales.....tis true - one day it says wow you are down 2.5 lbs, the next day ummm well I lied, it's only 1.5 rofl -- doncha just hate the dang ho scale
(clothes and how they fit is SO much more accurate anyhow - you go size 8 Rini!)
Forget the 8 no way no how. I must be having some loose pants days. I bought a dress for a christening today at dressbarn. size 10 and no way i was getting near a size 8. I good with the 10 really. i was happy at 14..well at least for a while....i had a good eating day today too.... a scone for breakfast....a cup of soup and a small salad and a piece of bread.....so far....love it when my band cooperates.

Congrats Rini... I am just seeing this.. WooHOOO you made it to goal..
I was just revisiting this thread just to remind myself when I reached goal, what i said and how i felt.....its great to have this to come to...well i have been maintaining since January but due to some recent job stress discussed elsewhere i dropped a few more pounds. As a result i'm fitting quite comfortable in a size 8 and i'm down to about 162-164 depending on that ho scale. It feels good to be an 8 and i thought "wow" when i wore the suit i bought the other day and it fit me so perfect. Now i have to experiment with some other clothes like jeans and regular pants. i can't believe I am almost 3 yrs post surgery! it's gone by so fast at times but i have cherished every minute of it and all of you here on b2g!
Whether you are struggling to lose weight or its coming off slowly know that each day, each moment and every minute counts! Learning above all to listen to our bodies and our bands is paramount to success. You can be successful and you will be! Keeping fighting the fight my fellow bandsters!

I can hardly believe it sometimes. GOAL is real.YOU can make it! I have seen the promised land my friends and it is pretty damn nice on this side of the mountain...Hope i can help YOU join me!

You've definitely always motivated me, both you and Chari. I've really struggled since the end of year one (2007!), but you know what? I am DETERMINED to hit my own goal in 2012. I'm -7 lbs closer and January isn't over yet. Woo hoo on hitting goal!!! Congrats again ladies!
