Day 8
Drains are still in;( Still taking pain meds but mostly at night and Tylenol during the day. I truly think when the drains are out things will feel so much better..
Finally getting used to this garment. I'm trying to be focus on the end result;)

I bet you feel lots better with those drains gone. I've heard those are the worse thing about having TT. Hope you're feeling lots better. I think about you often, and really you're not that far away. Seems my life is busy with the grands, but I promise, someday we'll have to get together. Max's brother and sister in law have a cabin by you, and they've invited us up there, but we haven't made it yet this year. Thanks Neal. Yesterday they took the drains out and today I feel kinda (more) swollen and little more pain is that normal> ? I have done little more today and maybe I should keep taking some pain meds. I hate taking them.!

I've told Max that I'm not happy with what my belly looks like, I've never liked it, and he said maybe I should have surgery at some point to take care of that. I'm 61 yrs old, and I think why would I want to have a TT at this age. Hmmmm you're giving me something to think about. :)

so glad the drains are out -- I imagine there is a bit of 'pulling and tugging' to remove the drains? so yeah I'm sure you have a bit of pain but I get it about hating the drugs...but if they help it's worth it - at least at night for sleeping maybe?!

You're looking great. Glad you're feeling better as well. I had drains with my last surgery (back) and they are soooo uncomfortable. I felt swollen and sore after they came out. But now things are good--3 weeks later. So I think you'll be the same in 3 weeks. Take care and am so excited for you.

Melissa~ the drains just plain suck they tug and pull and hurt. But when they take them out I swear it fills like they were wrapped around your neck LOL very painful ...I 'm so glad they are gone. ;) I'm excited to see what my belly looks like when all the swollen goes down.

I have been having the rashes and I have a hernia. My insurance company will cover it if I go in to have the hernia repaired. Up until I saw your pictures, having another surgery was NOT something I wanted to do, but now!?!

And I was inline for lunch like everyone else was and heard some whispering behind me. And the "bitches" said well If I had lap-band and plastic surgery I could look like her too.. Its all fake she doesn't deserve it. ;( I was SO mad and ANGRY and hurt. I didnt say anything held my head high until I left and then cried. But ...people are so jealous when you lose weight. Us lap-banders just push a magic button and the weight just falls off...no work involved...;(

Well this is exactly one of the reasons why I kept my band surgery from some people..because people tend to get jealous when they see you succeeding period. Not just lap band surgery but other things like getting great job,making better money, getting a promotion...when people have less than you money, looks, education, sometimes their own insecurity brings out the worst in them. so sometimes i just keep it to myself...I don't need anyone's approval only my own. Im very sorry you had to hear those hurtful comments girl but if i were you I would have turned around and told them to speak to me directly if they have a problem or question about my weightloss...and then unfortunately i probably would have spewed a very nasty comment about their looks and asses and walked away..sorry i know you should be above that but they woudl have deserved it! Don't get me started! How rude! How obnoxious can you get, jealous, hateful nasty bitches! As if you didn't have to endure ten times what they have to get to where you are. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr this just makes me mad.sorry.

I agree!!! I really kept my band surgery quiet for about 18months and then I started telling people who were thinking about the surgery..then it spreads like wild fire. So after everyone knew I was like I really dont care what anyone thinks about lapband. If you dont have a band then you have no clue so keep your thoughts to yourself. (my family included). My tummy tuck I TOTALLY deserved I lost over 100 lbs plus I have had 4 children and 3 -c sections etc. My daughter was so upset about what those ladies said to me ( you should of heard her) made me laugh;) But in the long run I want to help and bring hope to those who want to travel down this journey.

Cheri, there will always be jealous people who wish they had what you earned. The solution isn't always simple, but in your case it is. Get business cards from your lapband and plastic surgeon. Give each and every one of the "bitches" the cards and write on the back "It's all mine and I earned it...stop hating and start earning".


I've been told a hundred times that I cheated, took the easy way, was too lazy to do it myself...etc..etc..etc. My answer is always the same.
Yes, I did...and thank God I did or I would be a miserable jealous asshole like you.

That's the beauty of our choice...it was ours. If someone wants to...they can do the exact same thing. If they can't, won't or don't....then that's their problem and their loss. I pity those who are too scared to cheat, too scared to take the easy way, too scared to do it themselves,.

Hold your head high, chin up, smile at them and know in your heart of hearts that you cheated, took the easy way and was too lazy to do it yourself and that you look absolutely stunning.

I can't stand it when I hear people say that surgery is the easy way out!!! Having lapband surgery is the hardest thing that I have ever done. Between fighting the mental hunger, and not physically being able to eat, along with body image issues - those HATERS don't have a clue. I remember when some of my co-workers would watch me to see if I would fail. I proved them all wrong. You look fabulous and they can't stand it. I say to give them something to talk about everytime you pass by them - FLAUNT IT!!! You've worked hard to get to where you are.

I've only told a few people, mainly because I'm not interested in everyone's input, good or bad. I'm sorry you had to overhear that comment (and I'm pretty sure they wanted you to) and the thought of how upset you were makes me want to go and knock their heads together like coconuts.

One thing I always try to keep in mind is that what people believe is a only a reflection of them and their beliefs, and has almost nothing to do with (general) you. Of course, that's easy to understand intellectually but not always to understand emotionally.

I just got caught up on this thread. I'm w Bear. They can kiss your skinny ass. And, yes, they are jealous and mean. I think your pics are fabulous!!! I can't wait to get there. Will prob need my arms done first, but tummy is definitely on the list...as soon as I'm done having babies. And for the record, I don't think having the lap band is the easy way out. It's the hardest thing I've ever done. Staying fat and miserable would have been easier. But now I'm happier :) Im sure you are too.
