Has anybody out there had Tricare Insurance pay for tummy tuck? They were so wonderful with paying for my lap band and very supportive in the aftercare portion too. I've tried reading info on their web site and it's sorta confusing... any information would be helpful at this point.

Hey Kathy--

I have not had a tummy tuck but I do have Tricare and I have read the information on the website as well. It is sorta confusing and vague. It appears that they will cover a tummy tuck after weightloss surgery. I have plans to call and talk to a coordinator of care to find out specifics. I do know that there are others on B2G with Tricare that have mentioned that Tricare will cover the TT. I will let you know what I find out! :thumb:

Thanks for the information Breezy....Twenty more pounds and then I'll start making my move to get a tt done. It's getting uncomfortable with the hot weather... gotta powder up before I go out for the day... It would be so awesome to have Tricare involved in this part of the process. Good luck to you on your lap band journey... keep me posted.

Have you compared tummy tuck vs. Pannilectomy Surgery? I know my own insurance states 18 months post-op from lap band to start...and then a variety of ways to get it covered from the amount of lbs lost to how low the stomach hangs, etc... My plan is to start 'complaining' now so I can have a history of issues for next year.
