I have only been banded one week but these are a few of the things I have learned so far about the band before and after and I thought they were kind of interesting and wanted to share with you guys. Before I was banded my stomach growled when it was hungry. Now it growls when it is too full. This took some getting used to. If I get too full my shoulders hurt!. I have never experienced that before. I realized very quickly that walking around the house eating bites of anything that was within reach was a bad bad habit that I was not aware of prior to being banded. I now know what it means to savor your food. I have never known how to savor food before. I am much more aware of calories and fat. I have never counted calories a day in my life and at this stage I am having to try to get enough calories. Do you have any idea how awesome it is for a fat girl to try to eat enough calories! And last but not least. I CAN BURP! I was not able to burp for the first 4 days and I could just barely burp the last couple but today it happened LOUD and LONG! My son will be so impressed that mom can out burp him.
That is so awesome!! It's definitely a learning process...but you are doing so well. Keep it up!

Jessica and reblynd, yes it is certainly a learning thing and yes it is really cool to finally have the band. It is just really interesting to kind of re-learn your body signals. It is like beginning life again!

Lil'bitty, thank you for the well wishes. No problem with the sharing. I love to help people all I can. If I can give information to the pre banders then I feel like I have accomplished something!
Hey ladies.....I too am newly banded 1 month and I am soo happy with how everything is working out....I am down 23 lbs and finally like what I see when I look at me.....I am learning how to eat, when to eat, what not to eat and doing better than I thought I would....I know that I have a long road ahead of me but I am not looking at it like a death sentence....It feels good to feel good....And yeah who would've thought I'd get full on 2 oz of food???? Anyway, Idoahobeauty, JDru, Reblynd, and lil bitty, good luck to you all and congrats on your progress and best wishes for your continued success....

I have just registered with this band2gether, I was banded on 9/22/06 in Cincinnati,Ohio and I have lost 30 pounds. I have been reading a lot here, but I have found that every seems to have a 4cc band. My doctor informed me that I have a 10cc band typically put in men. I have had 3 fills, and I don't think that I have gotten to the "sweet" fill yet. I am eating more than just onces of food. Can any one tell me who has a 10cc band, what they were filled to before the felt "restricted

Cincy,
I have an 11cc band and am going for my 1st fill next week...right after Thanksgiving....yikes! I'm not feeling much restriction now, since I was banded on 9-11, so I know I need a fill.
Congrats on your weight loss and good luck!
