Last night at our support meeting, we discussed the possibility of having a Boise Bandster Christmas Party. This sounds like an exciting event! Jerry and I would love to participate and help plan, if necessary, but we wouldn't be available on December 15 & 16 due to the Christmas parties for our respective workplaces.
Last year the Idaho Bandsters Yahoo Group had a Christmas party at a member's home and everyone brought a bandster-friendly food item, sort of a potluck. Suggestion for a fun event - at the parties we go to, there is usually either an ornament small gift (gag, funny, great, etc.) exchange where everyone draws a number and then you can steal the item up to 3 times before it stays with whomever ends up with it. A whole lot of fun. I'd offer up our home to the event, but it's way too small and cluttered to have more than 6 to 10 people over and I'm sure the turnout will be as great or greater than the BBQ.
Keep me in mind if you want someone to help plan, organize, etc. Happy Holidays! [Yeah, I'm already in the mood. My work (me) cooks a turkey, with stuffing, etc. today for staff and tenants in our building and so the office smells like Thanksgiving.]

Susan asked me if I would be willing to have it at my house. I live in Eagle but which is a little out of the way for some but would love to host the party.
How does Saturday, December 9th sound?
I think the potluck is a great idea. I will have condiments and drinks for the evening.
What do you all think???????

Eagle is actually closer for me, but can't make it on the 9th....or the 16th. LOL...such a busy time of year, isn't it? Would love to participate, but I know it's hard to find a good time for everyone. Hope to see all at the Dec. meeting since I missed November's.

Ok, lets get this show on the road!
December 9th is fine with me, but Linda will you have your house decorated by then? I wish we could find a night that everyone could attend! I'd love to have DeAnn come over from Seattle, and she wrote to me and said she thinks she can swing the 9th. I'm going to post this on the Yahoo group too and see what kind of response we get.
As for the potluck.. should this be a dinner? What time should we begin? What types of foods should people bring?
I LOVE the ornament exchange game! I've played that game before and its a laugh!
Ok, feedback time!
Idahobeauty? Can you and Pat come on the 9th?
Jacqie P? How about you and Brent?
Shack? Would you and Sue be open that night?
Hippo's Hope? Where are you girl?
Come on everyone.. chime in!
Nita? Would you and your hubby be available that night?

I don't think I can get to Idaho.
Set up a webcam, and the rest of us can attend Virtually. heh heh heh.
Hard to eat the virtual snacks, though. Of course, that makes them lower calorie.

It sounds great to me - I plan on it and with the last few weeks I have had and the next few at work I'll need to loosen up. I bought a new blouse on Friday and I think I now have a place to wear it!!! I do have to keep in mind about my work's and Brent's job Christmas party but they don't do things until last minute normally. So unless we have to go to one of them that night I and hopefully Brent will be there with bells on!!

I was thinking mostly band friendly appetizers or maybe a couple of people could do soup (for those on liquids). If everyone brings some kind of appetizer and a drink to share, that should be plenty of food. I think there will be enough that this will count as dinner. I will take care of condiments and some healthy desserts. We will probably also have iced tea - unsweetened of course!
Appetizer, drinks and dessert--how does that sound to everyone?
Yes, Susan, my house will be decorated by then. I usually do my decorating right after Thanksgiving. I will probably have to wait a couple of days this year as we will have house guests but, it will definately be done by the beginning of December.
Ooooooh! I'm starting to get the Christmas spirit.

Talked to Brent and were on - My Christmas party is the night before so we should be there. I think will bring some kind of meat appetizer. Are we going to do the ornament gift game?

I think the ornament exchange sounds fun. Bring one wrapped ornament for each person who will be playing.
