Band Dr. in Tijuana?

My BIL found a website for a Dr. in Tijuana that does the band for around $9000.00. Anyone know about him/her?

Dr. Ortiz is in Tijuana and just banded my best friend, Vickie, on September 22nd. She had a wonderful experience. The cost was $8995, including lifetime fills.

Weird, I paid the same price to see Dr. Kuri who is also in TJ. No regrets here and his brand new hospital is wonderful. Lifetime fills and aftercare, too.
My other expenses were airfare, phone card, juices, and incidentals/tips
My stay was three/four days. Many people choose to do it quicker.
Day one (evening)- medical testing and paperwork
Day two - surgery and recovery
Day three - day of leisure in hotel
Day four - fly home

I'm a happy Dr Kuri patient as well. By all the reading I have done over the years, you couldn't go wrong with Kuri, Ortiz, or Rumbaut...the top 3 in MX in my book, although I hear great things about Sanchez in Monterrey as well. there may be 1 or 2 others in MX. But you have narrowed well on the top 2 in TJ, Kuri and Ortiz.

I flew in Thursday, pre-op in the afternoon, surgery Friday morning, Friday night in the hospital (I was at the old one) and baruim swallow, to the airport Sat morning. Done!

Surgery was $8950, airfare for me and my sister was about $700, then another $150 for tipping and incidentals, including souvenirs and that's it.

You're welcome, the_fireman. Her other expenses included airfare, food, incidentals and shopping. :D I believe her hotel/aftercare facility stay was included in the price.

She mentioned how the hospital looked like a resort and that the doctors/staff here in the US could learn a thing or two from the doctors/staff at Dr. Ortiz' office.

I was banded on Sept 8 by Dr. Ortiz in TJ. I am very happy with my band and with the whole experience so far. No reason to be afraid of going to Mexico if you are self pay. Everything and everyone at the clinic was wonderful. Nita

I LOVED my experience with Dr. Ortiz & always reccomend him to anyone who asks me about my lapband procedure. I have been back to his office 3 or 4 times since surgery & am so impressed that they remember me & treat me so well. I just can't say enough good things about thier facility. It is better treatment then I have ever had in the US. :)

Hello! This is my very first post! I am planning on going to get my banding done in June. I'm having it done probably by Dr.Ortiz in Mexico. I live in Canada and I'm not sure if I want to pay the $800 plane ticket to fly back every time for fills. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions?

I was banded in Monterrey Mexico and my whole trip including surgery, flight, hotel and post op food was $8500 and I had an awesome experience. Oh! that also includes lifetime fills. My aftercare is done through Fill Centers USA.

I went to Dr, Zapata in Mexico. He was great. 7,500 for all. Mine was 8000 with airfare. Beautiful hospital and hotel. Nice man. Donna
