I live here in Boise and was banded by Dr. Cahn in July. However, he's now left the area and I need to get established with another doctor. While I heard wonderful things about Dr. Anderson at the B2G conference, due to my insurance (I work for St. Luke's), if I choose Dr. Anderson for followup and I need any future surgery/procedures, etc., I can't have them done at St. Luke's because Dr. Anderson won't do any band-related stuff there, and my insurance won't cover them if I have them done at Saint Al's. Has anyone heard anything good/bad/indifferent about Dr. Valentine in Nampa or Dr. Korn in Boise as potential doctors for followup for my band? Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :pound:

Check with the letter that Dr. Cahn's office sent out about follow up choices. Then call their offices and see what they say about transfer patients.
Good luck sweetie.

My personal care doctor told me to NOT go to Dr. Korn under any circumstances when we were discussing the band. I do not know Dr. Valentine.

Thanks. That's what I'd heard also (my sister had a tummy tuck done by him after her gastric bypass and was not impressed with his bedside manner), but the more info you can get, the better.

My opinion is influenced by my mother working around Dr. Valetine at Mercy - she was not too fond of him, but others really like him. Sorry your insurance is restrictive about St. Al's but that is to be expected. Maybe you could set up a consult with Dr Valentine and if you dont get good vibes then yo know you had tried

Thanks, Jacqie. My cousin has worked with Dr. Valentine here at St. Luke's and she likes him. I have an appointment scheduled with him on November 2, so we'll see how that goes. Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it.
